The color and movement is really something in this foto. Very earthy
without green. And the movement in the water is ever so slight...
After reading the other comments I had no idea capturing water was so complicated. I am even more impressed.
KUDOS !!

extremely sensual. water (and flowers/plants too) are great for this.
please please make this a print!
question: how do you accomplish getting shapes (discernible ones) from drops?
i can only think of keep on dropping and checking the results while keeping the camera on continuous fast shutter speed shooting and adding movemnt to the drops or drop destinations possibly with fans or somesuch. and patience, natch. and skill.

I Find there is a lot of Patience and timing in doing water drops. there are time s where I see what happens to the drop when the flash goes off thinking that I captured something only to find out it was between shots. Sometimes it gets Frustrating. Then you get something like this and it makes all the time worth while

yeah i know i can deal with the patience and timing, i get obsessive and lose time.
but Mike, the big problem for me is losing location of where i dropped from. (Using an eye dropper.) don't have great hand-in-space memory or a steady hand so a lot of drops -- most -- end up outside the camera's focus, even out of the image entirely. how high do you drop from? do you use something to hold the dropper or whatever you use in place? (the camera is in place with the tripod, i need an eyedropper tripod! < smiles> ). any tips on this, suggestions? i can't think of anything but constructing a lever arm that attaches/clamps to the table i can move up and down and lock in place (sort of like one of those reading lamps with the lever arms). thanks.
bless--wayne

Thank you very much. This is what sometimes happens when you have 2 water droplets come together.
