Very interesting. I love the use on contrasting textures. The ripples really give this a confusing feel, since we can't see all of the subjects. I like that. The cropping was very, very well done.

oh, i also meant to say: i like how the reflection photo is diff from the real world. behind jasper, you can't really see much...a piece of a building, some traffic, some concrete...the real world. but in the puddle you can see jasper and the top of the sky scraper, like they are the only two things in the world that really matter. very cool.

Hey! I know where that is Errrm, I think I do Down by Science World is it? Where they would set up for the Indy, if we still had it
Anyways, each time I see one of your photos I think to myself - I don't know how she'll be able to top this with her next post but each time you do it. I really love this photo though... I absolutely love the composition of your frame - it's such an unusual sight with so much of the photo being lower off, which I think, really sets this off into a category of it's own You really weren't lying when you said you know about fashion and clothing though either The shirt and black pants are the perfect touches for this photo as the blue nicely ties into the water and the red just gives that extra punch of colour we're looking for! The set up is so clever by placing him infront of the building to get his reflection off the water, which looks fantastic by the water - the slight ripples are lovely! I really like his pose as well, it completely fits the frame with the lower to the ground feel I get from this Beautiful capture Lina, I'm so proud!

Hehehe, there was a dog called "Jasper" in the local paper a few months ago. It was the worlds funniest article and every time I hear the name it reminds me of it. This, obviously, has no relevance to the awesome shot. wd

thats a really rad shot. i like the capture of the pen in the water. cause at first glance your like what does a picture of this dude have to do with a pen, then you see the orange shape the side of his face is blown out a little bit and it has a bit of a hazy feel to it but other than that its awesome. good work there.

Man using the buildings reflection like that is just brilliant, I NEVER would have thought of something like that. Totally out of zee box. The light on his face is pretty harsh, which you could have avoided in hazier conditions or later/earlier in the day (I know you more then likely know that, sorry it's just my natural reaction when criting to give the "newb solutions" too, comes from my work in film class back in highschool I guess, I don't mean to insult your level of skill), or by using a reflector out of the frame. And I know you always carry a large reflector around with you.

His pose is okay, although what he's doing with his hands/arms look a little feminine. It should also be pointed out that public defecation is against the law.

Regarding what the previous guy said about sharpening, DON'T just use the sharpen tool in photoshop, play with the levels to bring out depth, and then use unsharp mask, which there are tons of good tutorials on for scanned use. (again, probably more you already know)

All in all, awesome.

give it a step of sharpen,i've recently realised that when scanning in some (only some) photos they get blurred and a step of sharpen sorts em out,

very good photo tho

Wow, yeah that composition works so well! I love his pose and the way his reflection lines up perfectly with the building behind which would otherwise have not been seen in the shot. I like the large space of water you've left below this reflection too and that little piece of litter on the side there breaks it up a little. It's just a really nice shot and the blue reflection of the sky is a wonderful colour too
