Similar deal to the Beryl Profile Page (which can be viewed here [link] )

Drawn for the wonderfully kind and generous ~Gen-Kavik as a reference for his SoA OCT audition.

As with the profile page for Beryl, this was a very opportune moment for me to play with more clothing designs and, again, gun referenced from the How to Draw Manga: Guns and Military book.

I kept thinking I was done with the basic sketch, and then I'd realize something like... "Damn I forgot his pack!" Then it was the gun...and then the bandolier...I was also supposed to draw him in his wolf form, but I discovered in short order that I cannot draw wolves.

I liked designing his chain. In the description Kavik gave me it said that he carried a 3 ft length of chain tucked into his cloak as a weapon and when he turns into his wolf form, it become the bone of his tail. So I had the idea to make it look like the tailbones of a wolf (maybe even be made of wolfbone?) instead of just giving him a regular metal link chain (which I find tedius to draw. YAY I'M LAZY. No wonder I can't draw anything but people...)

It occurs to me that this is one of the first drawings I've posted in monthes. I also realized that I have really been working mostly on profiles and concept sketches for various characters of my own and other peoples for those several monthes, aside from the FEE pages. Shit I want to illustrate something...draw SOMETHING that's not a graphic novel page or profile sheet...but I have way too many FEE pages to working on. I suppose chapter title pages will have to do for now...but I'm getting sidetracked from this piece!

umm...what else...I used Crayola and Derwent colored pencils, my favorite ZiG pens, and a silver gelpen I nicked from my mum to ink and color this. This is a little brighter and cleaner looking than the one Kavik posted. He said he liked the gritty effect cuz it matches Jack's personality, but I'm posting it here more for the artistic quality than the backstory, and the scanner kills my color so I readjusted it on the computer so you can see my color job better. I don't color much so it's already bad enough without the nasty scanner-effects.
