I don't really know what to call this, category wise.

But anyways..

I aged the paper using red tea, and then added the other bits. Some of the edges were cut off when it got scanned, but edges are burned, torn, and such. The red is a diluted mix of brown and red acrylic, and there's also some oil and wax on it (but it's hard to see that scanned)

Some of the actual points are true to real pirates. They actually did have a bit of a code; it wasn't just something the creators of Pirates of the Caribbean created themselves.
