In response to this game: [link]I do love to play such games like this, though I think instead of stopping to seriously think about what would help me figure out the next piece of the puzzle I often resort to trial and error.

I TRIED this game -and many like it on some website named Dillydo or something. I was able to solve only ONE, and finally had to give up on the whole website.
One game involved escaping from Meinhartgrat Prison or something. Irish freedom fighters were jailed there. The game opens in a cell and you have to set the junction box to unlock the door. The clues carved on an old wood bench made no sense and I gave up finally.
In another game, one played a troll or goblin trying to go on a quest. It was NOT solvable: an essential clue in a stump was missing, despite what the walkthrough said and I finally had to give up ! I complained to the website manager, but they said that the faillure was my fault, that I wasn't analytic enough. Well, the clue WAS missing -and I finally had to say goodbye to the game and to the website, out of sheer frustration.
I don't know why I tackled the game you referred the user to, but it brought back these early unpleasant memories.

I beat it~ (FINALLY)
I beat it without a walkthrough, but it took me a good 3 hours (with breaks) to figure out how to do those marbles.
