Bell PepperThis was the first charcoal drawing I did. The teacher projected a very blurred slide, and we were to vaguely imitate the value shifts. After 2-3 minutes, she focused the slide a little more, and we refined our value areas even more. Then another couple minutes, then another increase in focus, then more precise value description, and lastly she brought the slide into complete focus and we were basically already there. It was an excellent assignment in charcoal building.

That's an amazing practice, and the results look really good. You can tell it's a pepper, and the contrast of the reflections and dark spots are brought out very well in this. It looks a bit abstract and very beautiful.
