During his birth, Kei died because of a strangulation from his umbilical cord but Minhy was there and being a close friend of Kei's mother, she couldn't accept it : she used a forbidden spell from the Necronomicon and placed Kei's dying soul inside a doll. That's why his body is physically very weak and he can sometimes hears evil spirits whispering at his ears.
