It was.  Lewisburg, Ohio was a good place to grow up.  My daughter and her husband are seriously considering moving back and raising their son there.

Quite a few places in New Jersey as well. Morristown, Somerville, Summit are good examples near my hometown.

Walt Disney himself probably saw a number of places like this in his time.
