Ok last time I checked she literally JUST did a speech, and yet that's what you see?.......we can't act like this is the first time the characters aren't paying attention to the situation at hand in naruto, are you actually reading this? More importantly why am I writing this? The manga is over and everything is settled yet im here trying to justify this? And you're reading this? I guess you also forgot that they were in the middle of a war, just a distance away from Obito and also where hundreds of other ninjas died. Doesn't make a difference if it was her cousin or not. They had to focus on battle. Mourning about Neji would hinder her. That's why she had to bring Naruto to his senses.
I guess you also didn't see the last chapter where her and her daughter laid flowers on his death bed in his memory.

Focusing on the battle is different than focusing on Naruto's hand.
And sorry, but I do think it does make a difference. Because in my opinion Neji was not only her cousin but also her friend.
When you say mourning him does hinder her - I am pretty sure you do not think that fangirling over Naruto does hinder her too, do you?
In fact I do think this is the opposite. Hinata always looses her mind when Naruto is near.
She lets her friends down, her family, everybody. And no - this was NOT the only scene in the manga that does show that kind of attitude.
Actually I could name you a few. (Funny, since Hinata doesn't have much screentime anyways.)
I am normally on the pro Hinata side... but I do dislike that people just ignore that she has pretty much a selfish side too. And that this side is directly linked to Naruto.
I did see the last chapter - it was horrible...
I did read bad fanfictions that were even better than that chapter.
And that is not only because of the couples. If no couples were involved and no children either, that chapter would have already been bad enough.
But come to the point that Hinata and her daughter layed down flowers on Neji's grave.
A grave is a place for people to remember a person and probably show gratitude to that person.
Does Himawari (was that her name) know Neji? Can she remember anything about him? What does she actually know about him? What feelings do connect her to Neji? Except that she might see this as a kind of family-trip? (She clearly enjoys going to the graveyard -.-)
People say it is a nice gesture... but is that really it? Or is it just a superficial scene to introduce Hinata's daughter?
Have you ever stood at a grave of a relative you didn't know? I did never know my grandfather - going to his grave was always senseless to me. I did accompany my mother some times. But I neither did mourn him nor have any feelings.

...... you do know she isn't real right. I just wrote a few sentences. You wrote a whole ESSAY. Do you need THAT much evidence to counteract a small reason? (No, i didn't read it because there was no point in it being taken so seriously). I'm just trying to say, don't object to a character for a small reason. I see no real reason for people to hate her, besides her liking Naruto.

1. It is rude to not read if somebody takes the effort to WRITE it down. (Besides my essays start with 1 page - length undefined)
2. Of course I know they are not real, but I like nice discussions about character development.
3. In the point about her liking Naruto you may be right to some points. The character traits she adapts because of that are the reason people start disliking her. The fanbase that ignores that traits hate her.
A little note about how to talk on the internet.
You are even more rude given the fact that I DO WRITE in a foreign language.
Just imagine how much you would have to concentrate if you did so. To not read it in YOUR own language if somebody else did that is really insolent.
