Thank you!! ♥ There are definitely moments in which we can almost see that good, especially in the bad things he chose not to do but could have (for example actually killing Ignis, Promto or Gladio while Noct was in the Crystal or before that - he easily could've done it, but enough was enough - the evil he did was ensuring Noct would gain the power to free them both in the end... )

I agree while keeping the bros around ensured means to end I also think he grew to like them in his messed up way. This way when when the Lucian line was gone there would be those who could take over.  The king still alive in him somewhat.

Oh yes, I feel he definitely noticed the way they were ready to do anything and everything for Noct and the world. The piece of him which wanted the peace of death knew the world of ruin would most likely be rebuilt once more...
