4 Hours PS 6.0, No ref, Airbrush toolIs a halfpage illus for a project ^^ (Not the mod)
These guys are supposedly a form of JSDF (Japan self defence force) in the future.. with Akira-style bikes ;p
...oh and that door isnt small or the guys perspec funky.. theres a staircase + railing at the back so ppl walk down to a lower level to enter the outskirt bar ^^
..and that dude who is without a bike has some powered flight pack on.. with a retro styled /EVA armature control
of course, i had to change alot of the designs to avoid clear plagarism despite the pleas from client ;p j/k
im totally stressed out.. projects.. school.. interviews.. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
PS: playing with more colours, seeing how i can mix RGB into an image ^_^ although i did say 'no ref' i have been enjoying my photo class lately and obviously been looking at many photos throughout my life.. i hope some observation from those (and learned ones as well..) do somehow find its way into the style i strive for. Im not a realist freak.. though i definetely enjoy the cinematic quality in/of any visual media...

trying real hard to think of a critique so you dont think im humping your leg too much....ok, the only thing i can say is maybe break up the leaves on the trees with a different brush here and there so it doesnt look so uniform....umm and try to not make the rest of us look so amatuer next time ok?

Awesome work on this piece. First off, I loev the environment. Very grungy, very urban, very cool. The lighting is excellently executed as are the small details on the people, bikes and, of course, the backdrop. Awesome stuff Uki.
Question: Why is it called "Light the Way" ?

2) the piece is of a suburban/oilrig setting crossover, with many paths intertwined with the superstructure. perhaps...
3)light is one of my fav subject, i dont do it well, but its one of my fav. anyhow. inspired by the great painters...

Pardon the repetition, but as always, I love your artwork. Not just because they're beautiful, but because I feel...I dunno...something... when I look at them. This one feels cold and windy, but the lights look warm. Lovely.
The right third is my favorite part. Like the colors and the light. Like the dark corridor/alleyway (?). Wonder what's in there.

1) too lazy to seek the right references
2) just make it a point to push my visual memory when it comes to things. i remember what my phone looks like, how my room looks like, how light falls and mixes up the volumes and shapes, etc
