trying real hard to think of a critique so you dont think im humping your leg too much....ok, the only thing i can say is maybe break up the leaves on the trees with a different brush here and there so it doesnt look so uniform....umm and try to not make the rest of us look so amatuer next time ok?

tips?
..er.. im no mecha designer.. but i guess look at real world concepts and engineering books for UNDERSTANDING of how things work, and then do your own stuff from there ^_^

Awesome work on this piece. First off, I loev the environment. Very grungy, very urban, very cool. The lighting is excellently executed as are the small details on the people, bikes and, of course, the backdrop. Awesome stuff Uki.
Question: Why is it called "Light the Way" ?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ukitakumuki In reply to perigryn [2004-02-17 09:22:56 +0000 UTC]
1) they are scouts
2) the piece is of a suburban/oilrig setting crossover, with many paths intertwined with the superstructure. perhaps...
3)light is one of my fav subject, i dont do it well, but its one of my fav. anyhow. inspired by the great painters...

Okees, I think I gather what you mean. By the way, whether you've noticed or not, I've only of late started giving more detailed comments on your work. I figured I could at least do you the justice instead of being just another faceless person who goes about favourating all of your work without explanation ^__^ You've done much good work, so you deserve a more detailed comment than "Nice!" or something.

You know, I really ought to just save myself the trouble of typing comments on your artwork and stick "Ukitakumuki is a god" in my sig.
Pardon the repetition, but as always, I love your artwork. Not just because they're beautiful, but because I feel...I dunno...something... when I look at them. This one feels cold and windy, but the lights look warm. Lovely.
The right third is my favorite part. Like the colors and the light. Like the dark corridor/alleyway (?). Wonder what's in there.

ive not -directly used- references for a long time now. thats why im not improving as much as i would like ;p im
1) too lazy to seek the right references
2) just make it a point to push my visual memory when it comes to things. i remember what my phone looks like, how my room looks like, how light falls and mixes up the volumes and shapes, etc
yes... "the n00b way" ;_; -flees crying-
