▂▃▅▇█▓▒░۩۞۩ Description of this Artwork ۩۞۩░▒▓█▇▅▃▂

“I spent my time drinking and staring at a television in the airport bar. More death and destruction. Crime. Pollution. All the news stories were telling me to be frightened. All the commercials were telling me to buy things I didn't need. The message was that people could only be passive victims or consumers.” ― John Twelve Hawks , The Traveler

I've really been challenging myself to draw things that make a statement. 'Designer Nature' talks about the commercial world and what it steals from the natural world. The beauty of the daisy, which is my favorite flower, is flanked by the fake sequins and flashy colors of modern society. The daisy is drawn with brushes that mimic colored pencil artwork. The color choices are deliberate to take your eyes away from the gaudy trappings of the 'real world' and into the natural world.

I really enjoy the brush that Andantonius created and use it a lot in my own work. I also have a slightly modified version that I created that was used with his brush in mind.
