My class was asked to critique art based off of the Arthurian Legends and I chose yours because it's, like, totally badass
Anyway, I'm kind of embarrassed about showing you, but I'm going to do it anyway (think of it like a critique)(also sorry if anything was wrong):
"The Arthurian Legends have intrigued people for centuries, and so it should come as no surprise that countless artists have chosen to capture that whimsical sense of adventure in their work. Even today, we can see amazing works of Arthurian art from extremely talented individuals. The piece Iβve chosen is a fan-made wraparound cover for βThe Once and Future Kingβ. It doesnβt actually depict a scene from the story but instead creates a beautifully drawn cover to rouse peopleβs curiosity. Although the artist does mention that the woman in the picture is Morgause, she doesnβt actually say who the male character is. He could be Sir Ector since I vaguely remember that he had something to do with falconry, but then I again, I could be wrong. Either way, the piece is pretty incredible. I mean, just the way that she tied the whole drawing together using birds as a theme was pretty clever, and the mystic feeling it gives off is positively otherworldly. Combine all that with a stunning contrast of red and green, and the result is (for lack of a better word) totally brilliant."
So yeah...to sum it all up, you rock dude

The figure is actually Arthur himself. I chose to depict him with the hawk because it was his boyhood chase after a lost hawk that led him into the forest, to Merlin, and ultimately, down the path to his destiny. I'm very flattered that you chose my piece to write about! Thanks for taking the time to let me know about it

"The Once and Future King" is one of my absolute favorites -- and your style fits the narrative very well. I'd love to see a rendition of Morgan la Fey's ridiculous food-castle.

Several people on this thread are assuming this is Morgan but, as I recall, Morgause had a more prominent role in The Once and Future King. Which sister is this meant to be?

I can't even describe to you in words the music that plays when I think about this picture. It consists of crows, drums, and a bunch of other cool sounds, and it is dark and full of malice.
To cut to the chase, your picture is AWESOME.
