The cover for the 2010 installment of my Astral Chimera art book series. It features every 8.5x11 full color picture that I've created during that year.

Normally a print from me costs $10, but for the price of just a few prints you can have a book full of over 80 prints so it really is a good deal.

About the actual picture

Okay, so it's out a few days early... but the cover was done for a while and I wasn't expecting to finish up any more full color pictures before the end of the year. LOL!

In case you haven't guessed, that poll I made a few months back about which of my characters to use in an upcoming "project", was actually about which of my characters was going to be the "cover girl" of this year's art book. Four of the five characters I listed in that poll were completely neck and neck so I ended up picking Ran-Qui as she is the only character on that list that I really consider to be a "fursona".

I chose the characters on that list very carefully. I had a gryphon character as the covergirl for last year's book so I wanted a mammal for this year's cover to have something a little different. I also chose a character that would look good against an emerald green background, since the green would be a good color sitting on a shelf next to last year's blue cover.

Even though Ran-Qui is a Star Wars fan character, I purposefully left out any Star Wars references from the cover... including her twin lightsabers. I didn't want Lucas to come knocking at my door with a platoon of Clone Troopers.
