This is mostly paraphrasing actual things said in the disgusting asian web comic “Under the Oak Tree.” I tried it because I liked the premise, but the guy literally rapes the mc right at the beginning. Like she literally has trauma flashbacks about it. And even after she starts to like him for some reason, every time they do the dead she was reluctant and embarrassed and it’s framed as ROMANTIC. I read a bunch of reviews on the comic and no one else seems to see it. They just say the “couple” have great chemistry. Tha Heck??? Sure he might rape her, but he doesn’t beat her like her father so he’s sooooo kiiiind uwuwuwuwuuwhufdhludl hiugerwhiuehl It ENRAGeS me! Especially as she’s a victim of severe physical abuse and the last thing she needs is another aggressive male pushing her around. It bothered me so much I sketched out an entire alternate version of the comic where on the wedding night the main character is just like, “Ja I can see you’re scared of me so lets just go straight to sleep it’s been a long day.”
So Ja. I kind of drew this to be poking fun, but I actually felt uncomfortable just drawing it.
