for [link]no, i dont have my colored pencils back [though i think i know where they're at now] and this is actually done with prismas i used from my art classroom. im so far behind now, hopefully i can catch up..!
so yeah, a nice and pretty quetzal-xatu. why does he have such a long tail you ask? well, i read that xatu's were based after resplendent quetzals, those of which have enormously long tails LOL srsly, go look it up on google images.
despite him looking like a natu, im rather proud of how this came out; especially those little foots lol. my fave psychic was a tough one to choose, since most of the psychic types are extremely overused; but man, though ive never used one, ive always had a special place in my heart for xatu <3

That's funny cuz I just did a research project on Guatemala for my Spanish class that I just presented today. The Quetzal is its national bird, currency name, and flag symbol. Mayans also used to use the quetzal's tail feathers as currency. Gawd, they such frickin cute birdies! I frickin love them! I wanna go to Guatemala now and see one live.
I've loved Xatus for a while now as well. Maybe that's why. XD

Always hated xatu's original design because it looks a bit derp and boxy, but love love love your design is pretty <3<3 IT NOW HAS A TAIL <3

lol! ive actually always loved xatus design; they wanted him to look like a totem pole, and they really succeeded! ive always been a fan of his coat xD and it was based after possibly one of the most fabulous birds on the planet, the resplendent quetzal: [link]
