HAH! So you've seen the Ocarina of Time one then? That one was pretty good. Very salient! Personally I think he's putting Zelda 1 on a pedestal because it is not fun to wander into an area and die immediately and Zelda 1 has like nothing in the way of immersive story, and that's a big sticking point, but he's totally right about there being too much effing waiting in Ocarina.

Yeah, I mean the reality of running into somewhere that could kill you instantly is cool, but it's also kind of wobbly game design imo. And I haven't played much Ocarina besides the first dungeon because I got fuckin lost in the damn city |D

You know, the open-world design is a thing of beauty, and we don't really see enough of it these days, but it's got its problems, and nowhere were they more evident than in the earliest applications of the concept. Link Between Worlds is a pretty awesome way to do it! (So was LttP for that matter lol)

Ahaha, I miss the older Spyro styled games, really. It was way more fun going to different worlds and stuff at your own pace, rather than the Legend series where it was all one straight line B( I sometimes go back and play the old Spyros because I still find them hella fun haha
