UltimateSassMaster — This wasn't her first time managing a nest

Description "Aight, so like, just for clarification, I'm gon start from mah childhood first for a quick sec, k?" Eon offered, first and foremost.

"Uh.. Yeah sure, I don't see a problem with it." Thomas replied, scratching at one of his whiskers curiously.

"Right. Like I said, I won't bog ya down with all them boring bits, so I'll try to keep in what's important." She opened, clearing her throat a bit nervously. "Basically, like. Okay, when I was born, I was in a big ol' clutch with about 4 or 5 other sisters, right?" She waited for the Stunky's nod before proceeding. "My mama was a distant kinda lady; you could tell this wasn't her first time managing a nest, yanno? So it was like, our relationship, to her, was more business than love." Thomas fidgeted a bit, but continued listening. "Right, so with that outta da way, to put it simply, I was the runt of the litter. I don't think I was the smallest, but I was definitely on the weaker side, and I didn't have enough brains to match. Took me forever to learn that I had ta fight for my portion of meal with the rest of the clutch, and I had to keep on askin Mama and mah sisters on how to tell the difference between berries and shit, yeah?" She sighed. "Right, so basically, long story short, I didn't get treated to nicely in mah Mama's nest. The other girls always pushed me around 'n shit, I eventually gave up and just waited til they was all settled down before approachin' Mama and askin her for the rest o' the food. Sometimes she would save me some, sometimes she wouldn't. It sucked, but I was too stupid and too much of a wimp ta do anythin' about it. Typical teenage bullshit, yanno?" She coughed a bit, looking for the Stunky's nod of clearance once more.

"Right, so, of course, like any other child with a brain, I said 'fuck it' to that horse ass and went on my own way, soon as I could." She continued. "I mean, I still had to come back home to the nest at night for bedtime, but you know, I was out and about on mah own durin the days, rushin down the tree and dartin through the fields..." She made a few dramatic cape-like gestures with her wings to emphasize her story. "...To be honest though, it wasn't that impressive. We lived smack-dab in the middle of goddamn no where, and I swear to god everyday we actually would see those cliche ass tumbleweeds just crawlin along the horizon." She laughed. "Those things are not as harmless as they look, by the by. If one's rollin straight yo way, you better be movin dat ass o' yers 'cause that shit hits ya like an Electrode's Rollout. But yanno, aside from the bouncy death plants, there wasn't a lot to do outside my nest. Mama always flew out to the cloudy mountains at night, gettin us food, but they were miles upon miles away, pretty much a painting on the horizon of nothing." She sighed at the memory. "The mountains were the farthest we could go, though. Rest of the dang wasteland was walled off by the fog. It swallowed a good half of the mountain, even, which is why we called it that; the cloudy mountain, that is." She pecked at her neck feathers awkwardly, trying to remember what happened next.

"Right, right." She caught herself, continuing. "So yeah, there wasn't shit to do, so I just ran around like a hyperactive Torchic actin like I was free and was explorin 'n shit. Stupidest shit, but yanno, I was a stupid kid. Thought I was actually making progress." She shook her head at her younger self. "So, as all the other stories in Andalusst go, one day I accidentally slipped over a banana peel and fell off a cliff and landed in a slippery slidey waterslide and mysteriously found myself in the fog!" She rubbed her forehead as if she were having a migraine; for all the stress she showed toward the subject, she very well might have been having one. "I seriously don't get the good half of those stories, either. It's like, everyone thinks that just 'cause they're Researchers that automatically makes them the smart ones, despite having like, you know, just fuckin' joined and shit. Like to think they're special, or 'privelaged.'" She put a special emphasis on that last word, motioning her wings to give it visible air quotes. "Ugh, and it's always like," She dawned a deep, mocking voice, "Oh well lookie that I just so happened to have lost myself in this mysterious magic fog that teleports anyone who enters it across the planet and even though there's a very clear danger here and it's repeated through folklore of all kinds all throughout my life, I don't know what I'm going to do! I don't know how this happened!" She razzed, returning to her normal voice. "Bitch! Yo stupid fuckin asses obviously walked in the goddamn fog thinkin you tough shit, that it ain't gonna teleport you 'n shit, and look what goddamn happened! Stupid pricks, they prolly dumber than Aksel is." She ranted, sinking into her feathers grumpily.

She sighed, composing herself. "So, yeah. That's pretty much happened with me, except, well, worse. This is fucking hilarious looking back on it, but holy shit was I a stupid fuckin kid." She laughed at herself with her words. "Okay so like, I walked up to the fog, yeah? Turned around and asked ma Mama like, 'Mama what is this big ol' cloud doin' here?' and she answered me like, 'Girl you better done get yo fluffy lil booty back over to this nest or I'll beat yo ass!' but I ignored her and was like, 'If I go into the cloud, will I learn how ta fly?' and then she looked at me like I was a complete fuckin doof, which lemme clarify, I completely was. She then said, 'Yeah sure, but we won't go into the fog until after you're older.' But! Bein the snotty lil brat I was, I jumped up and down like, 'But Mama! I wanna see what it's like right now!!' and without waitin for her reply, I hopped right into that fog. I thought I was bein' adventurous, because like, the ground changed and all, yeah? It's wicked freaky when it does that, I know you've been through it, right?" Thomas nodded in response, smiling a bit. "Yeah, so I was super freaked out like 'WHOA Mama look! I found grass! And Trees!' but yanno, I looked behind me, Mama and all my shitty lil asshole sisters were gone. For a secon' I was confused like, was I supposed to be sad that they was gone? Because I felt so goddamn happy, I wanted to keep on explorin' the brand new foggy world. I didn't quite recognize how dangerous and scary it was gon' be." She coughed again, rubbing her face. "Once I started hearin noises that weren't there- Er, well, lemme clarify. The noises WERE there, they just wasn't there long enough to do anythin' before the fog did it's work on em. Even so, that shit spooked me the hell out. I walked in that cloud for what felt like it coulda been like four or five hours, but hell, with how the fog works? Coulda been days, even months. Fuck, can you travel backwards in time in the fog too? That'd be bananas." She reveled the thought for a bit, before returning to her subject. "Right, right. So, after travelin a while, I started to get scared. And, that's about the time I met Aksel."

Part 2 of 6 of Foggy Memories

Aw jell yea, I gotta go to school like right now but YOOOOO next page finallyyyyyyy. I originally wanted this story to be like third person, but I also REALLY enjoy stories that are told from a character's specific perspective haha. So that's what we're getting xD; I can't wait to write the next page omgg

Do I sense a distinguishable motherly instinct toward Aksel in the same sense Eons mother was to her? Cuz I think I do!
