White Knight Chronicles! I've had this game since Christmas, but this weekend was the first time I played it. Above are my first reactions. Over all, I do enjoy the game. It is greatly reminiscent of FFXIII in combat style and HUD. Both are good games, but they do not place on the same level as Arc System Works games, or DarkSouls.I suggest you not try to understand the reference in the second to last frame. It is from a discontinued game from a LONG time ago. I would not be surprised if you can't even find any trace of the game when searching on Google. To put it simply, the game in question, "The Death of Barneby Marget", made you make a custom character, only to make him/her the main villain which you had to capture. Screwy? Yes. Fun game? Most definitely.

I know right, I just started playing White Knight Chronicles and when I first made my character I was like, oh yeah, then I saw it freom angles and I was like, BURN IT WITH FIRE!
Anyway, the fact that the avatar is basically just there to be there kinda bothered me, until I started playing out things in my head and kinda adding my own story for my character on. Sorry for leaving this massive message

Me: Leonard huh? Probably gonna be my bro through the game... and a tutorial guide too.
*Yulie is introduced*
Me: and the party expands! Shame that she doesn't talk to me, but then again I JUST joined.
*WHOLE FREAKING CASTLE BIT*
Me: alright something is going on here.
*Princess guiding bit*
Me: okay, but why am I not there? He needs his bro to help keep his apparent love interest safe.
*About to get the Ark*
Me: OH! and this is where I come in with the obvious badass dude to help my bro get his love interest!
*Leonard gets it*
Me: Wait, what? Game, what're you doing?... am I... an obscure background character?
*Silently plays through boss fight and cutscenes*
Me: Nope... I'm done.
*Leaves the game for a week*

Too bad. It sounds really cool. Do you still have a copy? You could send it to a YouTube channel that makes it their thing to play older games. There are several.

...they made the sidequests mmo style... and you don't even get the zord for them... all in all though it is a good game

My thoughts exactly! I'm WAY higher level than the main characters, I could kill any boss with a single strike, but still I'm not important! WTF Level-5?!

i don't know whether or not you have played white knight chronicles online but if you have i'm surprised you didn't make a reference to the necessary quest spamming just to guild rank up to 18 (i play the second game) so you can get your character to the max level

I think I've heard of White Knight Chronicles. Was it made by Level 5? Somehow I recall hearing about it and noticing it was made by Level 5, which was my favorite game company until I heard of Blazblue, and one of its games still remains my favorite game ever to this day.
That said... LOL. XD (Really all I have to say. The Death of Barneby Marget sure sounds like an interesting game, though.

I hated white knight chronicles....
I actually could deal with the fact that you weren't the main character, but they did you "the side character" a poorly, you virtually did nothing. Then, the battle system, heaven for fend a troll smashes it's club into the ground and meanwhile, some 13 miles away, you're in town and buying a potion, and this troll one shots you (exaggeration, but the point still stands).
The only upside? Make your character like stupid as all hell, name him/her something to the effect of "Meat" and name all your combos things like "Manly Musk" and "Body Yogurt." It was good for a laugh at least. Sorry to rage about this game on your fine comic here.

No problem, friend. The only reason I liked White Knight was do to a bank full of patients saved up from playing FFXIII. I've stopped playing Both games in order to get on Dark Souls(Which is a comic all its own and soon in coming).
I agree, it was ridiculous how no matter how far you where, you could not avoid anything. The only plus about going far away is that the monster would go after your allies and not you.
