Description Well. Ive wanted to to a painting like this 4 a LONG time, creating loads of texture with the paints to make it look rough and gritty with a hint of beauty about it.

I really enjoyed painting this it was fun creating the background I used loads of layers of paints and big large rough loose stokes and roughed it up a little to make some of the black paint peel off in places it was fun splashing paint everywhere hehe!!

then on top I began filling in the face with white acrylic It was quite ghastly at first but i built up the layers and she beagn to come to life hehe!
I like the fact u can see the textures there from the paint underneath.

this was sooo fun to create and ill be producing more stuff like this, i think this is my real style of painting, I love making marks and smudges and being expressive!

Materials
Winsor and Newton's Gouache and Acrylic paints, Winsor and Newton's drawing inks, Colouring pencils, Charcoal and a Faber Castell pencil eraser (I FINALLY BOUGHT IT!! Traveled all the way to Chelsea to get it!!)

its not fair that the traditional art gallery didnt add this, they are specific with things they want but if its named so general it shouldnt be so specific, this piece or art it great the coloring n the painting technique. different techniques is what makes the art world go around

Hey!
So first of all, this piece is really awesome The texture you created is just gorgeous (I wish I could learn how to make a texture like that lol) and the colors you chose work great together!
I think there are only a few things that could be improved upon to make this even better. And if you don't edit this one, maybe some things to consider in your next paintings for the series.

I think there may be a bit too much forehead on the right side of her face. Maybe it would look more balanced if some color streaks were going into the white of her face there as well.

The eyes look really cool and the color is really beautiful! However, I think they don't quite match up and I think that is in the placement of the pupils. I see that in the left eye, the pupil touches the top lid of the eye while the right one does not. I see that it is like this in the photograph, but sometimes it is easier to pull off in a photo I think that if both pupils were touching the top of the lid then they would look more similar. Also, the right eye just seems a liiiittle bit larger. Perhaps if some of the white of that eye was brought in by adding more lashes to the edge of the eye, it would make both eyes look more in balance with each other.

The nose looks like it would have been really difficult to paint lol I think if you added a thin, maybe dark purple outline around the side tips of the nose though, it would really make it pop more.

Anyway, this piece is really good and I'm sure the rest of the paintings in your series will be awesome as well.

Thanks my dear 4 ur critique! Im glad u like the textures! I will take ur advice on board 4 my nxt painting Im here to learn! This painting was quite challenging 4 me but i do agree with what u say! Well hopefully my nxt painting will be LOADS better! And im so chuffed that a brilliant artist like u thinks im talented u r extremely talented urself! I cant wait to see new works frm u! The textures really are incredible! I really love how everything is kind of starting to slip away, but her eyes remain so intense. I see it like she's a person that's been to hell and back, but is still able to see clearly. Amazing work!!

Yeah this job hunting is getting desperate! Ive been looking since 2008!! and NOTHING!! I was thinking of going back to my old employer and asking if he can help me out! I really dont want to work there again! Its at an opticians and it was sooo boring! working there again would be a step backwards!! what else can i do!!

Oh I hope I find something soon. I got soo depressed about it yesterday. I feel soo useless and rejected! Im useless at maths so in a shop I wouldent be able to handle money waaaaaaaaa!!! Maybe thats why no one will employ me cos I dont have a GCSE Maths! I failed only just!! My Maths teacher couldent teach properly waaa! Mum threated me that I have to have a job by the time she comes back frm abroad, not possible!! Thanks 4 ur encouraging words I do feel better now! new Dev on the way!

Soz 4 the late reply I havent been online this week as ive been at home and as u know theres no internet at home. If there was id be on DA everyday!!

My mum came back to the UK yesterday Im sooo glad she came back alive!! She was due to go to the airport in Kingston, Jamaica but as u may have heard in the news its extremely dangerous there right now theres a war going on there and people are getting killed.

You cannot imagine how scared I was 4 her. anyways Luckily she left early and whent to the airport in Montego bay instead and lucky managed to get through YAY!! I was sooo happy!! She did the sensible thing! My sis didnt know she was coming yesterday. It was all a surprize 4 her birthday which is TODAY!! Mum and i made her believe that mum was gonna miss her birthday cos she wouldn't be back in time. she was soo surprized and happy to see her yesterday!!

The job thing hasnt worked out so far still nothing

Visit my sis page to wish her happy birthday shed really appreciate it! she's 14 today!! I will be checking!

After a day of snow a couple weeks back, it was almost 90 degrees here yesterday; today promises more of the same. Summer is here I guess!

90 DEGREES!! WOAH!! Lucky u!

Over here on sunday was the hottest day or the year it was very hot 4 england!! cant remember the exact temperature around 30 degrees. I sat in my back garden to start a new drawing which i would be posting today if i hadn't ripped it up! Yeah I know i ruined it and I spent hours on it too I got angered by a smudge I couldn't get rid of and used masking tape to try and clean it up only to rip that section of paper off so the girl i was drawing had a white patch on her face I got mad and ripped it in half and crumpled it.

I regretted it as I could of just fixed it on photohop Im sooo STUPID!! I tried drawing the same picture again but it doesnt look the same Luckily I took a photo of it b4 i ripped it up maybe I can do something with that mmm.
