So... there's actually no real story behind this aside from the fact that I finally finished my BA paper and handed it in and that I started training as a 2D/3D Artist and Game Designer at SAE Institute. I couldn't really participate in much practice during the first few weeks due to my commitment to the BA thing. I need to catch up on practicing Maya, which is a 3D modelling software (and annoying as f***) and I started Marketing classes last week. And also Photoshop. It's funny, I thought PS was so expensive until I found out about the Creative Cloud and as a student, especially at SAE - those guys work with Adobe ("They are chill" as my PS teacher said) - it comes rather cheap. What I wasn't prepared for was the fact that PS is a whole different kind of beast, even after years of working with GIMP. I feel like a total noob again and I expected to march in there and show them who's boss. So here's my first practice with PS which I made during class today.
When my teacher asked me about the characters I said that I rendered them in Poser and that I can only do that so far. She looked at me and went "So you can only do that, eh?" while making quotation marks with her fingers. "Only, he says. That's awesome. You're the only one here working with your own characters. Be proud of that!" (most of the other people in the class, 80% girls, are all rather good at drawing, a skill I still lack, but my time with Poser helps me understand some of the Maya stuff in turn)

- still... it's like starting out anew and I must fight the feeling of being inadequate just because I'm not as much a "pro" as I am with GIMP. We'll see. Just getting started I guess Be gentle.
