Description (Psst. Full view, please~)

This description is about to become very cheesy. Be warned.

So, one year and 5 days ago, Trauma Team was released for Wii, after much anticipation from fans.

... and it was fucking awesome.

To celebrate this special occasion: a group pic with every single character from the game, complete with me trying actual anatomy, so you know it's special! (Also, minus the phone witness people. I would kill myself if I had to do that... even though I really wanted to draw the hobo guy. I also forgot Captain Eagle. Sorry, ambassador of love and justice :c). It took long, grueling hours and me nearly burning my hand off, but here we go!

I know I'm 5 days late from the actual release date... but I, myself, didn't get the game until a few days later, so... STILL RELEVANT.

Oh lordy, I do love this game. I remember first hearing about it and going "Team? So... there's just a bunch of doctors around doing surgery? Eh, whatever." And then I saw the trailer and freaked right the fuck out. I was so excited you couldn't even believe it. Man, I remember in March of last year I thought "Ughhh, May is taking too long! Why won't it hurry uuuuup." Time sure does fly.

Every night I locked myself in my room (waiting until night, because... games feel better that way. I'm weird) and played it, and I loved every second of it. Despite the silliness, the plot holes, and just some of the general idiocy, I adore this game. Hell, I even love some of the silliness. Superhero doctors. Talking to the dead. Magical, killer butterflies. Using your body as an electrical circuit. Why would you do that-- WHO CARES IT'S AWESOME. It's stupid, it's silly, and I love it.

I honestly haven't played the game once after I beat it, not counting XSing some missions. I'm personally glad I didn't. It sort of... preserved it's nostalgia for me (yes, I'm getting nostalgia over a game that only came out a year ago). I plan on replaying it during the Summer, and god, I can't wait.

And now, a collection of things I learned while drawing this:

- Everyone wears skinny pants, for some ungodly reason.
- There are two characters who are in wheelchairs. That is two wheelchairs too many.
- Dennis Taylor (the drug guy from Naomi's first case) is extremely attractive, despite looking like a giant douchebag.
- Samuel Trumbull looks a bit like Leon S. Kennedy. This slightly worries me.
- I... really can't draw shoes. I thought I could for a while but oh god I just can't.

I am also not that good at drawing profiles. I used lots of references, bit I'm still paranoid they came out... derpy. I also realize that the light source jumps around a bit here. I noticed it about halfway through but, dear god, I really did not want to re-shade all those people.

... You know, Atlus usually releases a new Trauma game every year or so (TT came out 2010, but the copyright date said 2009, so...). There has yet to be any announcement, or even a small mention, of a new one coming out. This is concerning. Especially considering the fact that, sales wise, Trauma Team didn't do very well.

E3, I'm looking forward to what you may offer me...

Regardless, happy 1st birthday, Trauma Team. You're pretty much my most favorite thing on the Wii ever.

Gotta love how the victim from Wandering Girl is cheerfully smiling with her hands covered in blood from scratching her nails off on the door. And I love this picture! But reading how you were hoping for E3 to bring us more Trauma makes me sad... since that was written five years ago and we still have nothing...

Haha, yeahhh I actually remember looking at this a bit ago and reading the description and feeling bad for poor little past me, haha ;; So hopeful at the time... I doubt we'll ever get another Trauma at this point, but at least I can still enjoy what's there.

Anyways, thank you!

*similarly sappy* I actually hadn't heard much about Trauma Team and for a while I had that 'they changed it, so it sucks' idea, so I didn't have very high hopes and I quickly forgot about it until about two days before its release.
(Come to think of it, I barely saw any advertising besides the back of a Nintendo Power. If my friend wasn't an Atlus Faithful, I never would've remembered.)
ANYWAYS, I got the game. AND IT. WAS. AWESOME. I would play about 6 hour spurts every weekday, then like, 10 hours on the weekend. SO INTENSE. It's already been a year, but my love for it is still kickin' <3

ALSO, I love this drawing; special mention to Naomi because you gave her an awesome in-character pose~

Umberoff In reply to Mini811 [2011-05-28 03:55:34 +0000 UTC]

*continues the sappiness* I only heard about it again because I downloaded the Nintendo Channel for my Wii out of boredom, and I saw something about it on there (one the tutorial video things). I was like "Oh hey, that game. Huh, wonder what this is". Watched it, and I was hyped. As. Hell. I waited every day for more videos about it to be posted and it was so amazing.

Lol, when I get new games, I wait until night to play them, alone, locked in my room, because I think it gives a better experience... somehow. With Trauma Team, waiting for night to come were the most grueling times ever, but it was completely worth it. Even a year later I adore this game to bits <3

Also, thank you :>

Mini811 In reply to Umberoff [2011-05-29 02:05:14 +0000 UTC]

I preferred playing it during the day because forensics scared the hell out of me (that Beast of the Lord still tends to haunt me) but I do try to play alone in a quiet room to get the full experience.
SEQUEL PLZ~

Forensics was incredibly creepy, but the night just made it so chilling 8D (Although, it was midnight when I first played the Veronica case, so when I finished it I was depressed the rest of the night and couldn't sleep :I ...)
