I know I said I was mainly a base account now but I couldn't help myself after seeing all the wonderful mane 6 hcs/redesigns on here... If you're interested, I added some backstories/HCs below!! I'll try not to do my "U" thing because it could be hard to read...

GENERAL HCS
Ponies almost always become more magical and sparkly after they get their cutiemarks, ESPECIALLY the mane six!! There's a theory that it has to do with "Imbued Magic" or something of the sorts.
Earth Ponies have more "realistic" designs! Unicorns and Pegusi can be more colorful but don't have as detailed pelts

TWILIGHT CELESTE SPARKLE

Most of her backstory is the same!! However I saw a wonderful HC that her and Starlight are twin sisters. I think they were very close, but ended up going to separate schools of magic, especially since Twilight was such a gifted student. Once she got to Ponyville, they stopped keeping in touch.
Yes her middle name was after Celestia and yes Celestia teases her endlessly about it.
When she was trying out for the school, she met a white unicorn wearing pretty clothes. She assumed it was to try to impress the judges and didn't think much of it- the mare had such a heavy accent too.
She considers Spike a little brother! He means the world to her, it was strange seeing that he became a dog in the EQG universe.
She's greyromantic, a demigirl and bisexual. She uses she/they/star
RARITY BELLE
Rarity grew up in a lowerclass but still loving family (Think trailer park) and always dreamed of being a princess. She'd take bedsheets, curtains and old clothes that her neighbors donated and would make the prettiest dresses that she could!
Her biggest want in the world was to move to Canterlot. The only way to do that was to get into Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns. She practiced her magic day and night with the support of her family... They wanted her to get in, and were willing to figure out the funds to make sure she could.
When she arrived, the first pony she met was a mare with pretty yellow eyes that wouldn't even look at her. She clearly had high unicorn blood, the bright white markings on her snout suggested as such. She tried to strike up a conversation but the mare didn't respond...
Sadly, she didn't do well on the acceptance test. She was obviously crushed... her one way of moving to Canterlot was ruined. She cried all the way back home and bundled up in her bed for the night.
She got her cutie mark in a similar way as before; waking up suddenly in the middle of the night with her horn dragging her along.
She's bi and uses she/her
FLUTTER-BY SHY
She was born an earth pony thanks to her father's side of the family. She can still thankfully walk on clouds, but she's much less stable on them.
When she was young, her fawn spots started to come in and multiply in number. In a panic, she was taken to a doctor, who informed her family that she was in fact just showing deer spots. It was a rare manifestation of Earth Pony markings.
Wanting the best for her, she was sent to a school in Ponyville and her parents moved close to there. She was extremely anxious and anti-social, worried that she was as out of place there as she was in Cloudsville.
That was until she met Applejack, a charismatic and kind classmate with big smiles and a rough'n'tough'n attitude. She latched onto Fluttershy immediately, helping her get used to the school and letting her know everything she need to know.
She felt comfortable, until AJ told her that she was moving to Manehatten. Once she was gone, Fluttershy didn't know what to do. She skipped class and hid out in the woods.
The rainboom startled the animals she was hiding out with, and she was able to get her cutie mark!
She's a nonbinary lesbian who uses she/bun/they.
APPLEJACK MAC
Applejack's story is nearly identical to the one she has in canon!
Except for her close friendship with Fluttershy when they were fillies, that is. The two of them stuck like glue together and still spend time regularly with each other.
She had a habit of looking and being mistaken for a foal when she was young, and that was just fine by her! Even as an adult she'll tie her hair up in a bun to hide under her hat.
She's a cis lesbian that uses she/he pronouns
RAINBOW DASH
First and foremost, Derpy (who I've renamed Drift Drizzle) is her little sister!
She gained her "bully" status because she didn't hold back punches or insults if the ponies she cared about, especially Drift, were bullied. It sometimes would end up with her in the wrong crowd, but she always remembered her heart was with the right ponies.
She performed her Rainboom during the fight test after Drift was being bullied and she wanted to show them all better.
Sometimes, when she was really young, she was taken to a farm(?) with her mom and met a pale filly with the smallest wings imaginable! Her mom said not to tell anyone about these visits, and she got to play with her while their moms drank and chatted.
She's a nonbinary lesbian who uses she/they/he pronouns.
PINKIE PIE (TW for abuse)
Pinkie was born "Quartz Pie" to a strongly Earth-Proud family. Her mom was a quarter pegusi and didn't want to bring it up in worries of causing infighting and ridicule. So it was a surprise to all of them when Quartz popped out with little wings!
However, she was never allowed to use them. Because of that, they ended up underdeveloped.
When she was little, her mom would invite one of her friends over when her dad was busy on the rock farm. She started bringing her daughter, who was a real, actual pegusi. Sometimes she tried to teach Quartz how to fly, but it never worked out.
After she got her cutie mark, there wasn't a party. Or a celebration. Her sisters and her mom were all very supportive, but her dad didn't want her around anymore. She wasn't an actual part of the family (he even accused her mother of cheating on him.)
The mare that always came to visit picked her up the next day and took her to cloudsdale. She stayed there for a little while before moving to Ponyville and being adopted by the Cakes. They named her Pinkie, and she was able to live a brand new life.
She's a transmasc leaning nonbinary bisexual, who's comfortable with any pronouns including neos!
