people really underestimate how much hate Sonia gets. in the fandom and in canon.
people see her as a dumb blonde lust-object and think she's bitchy.
also, Japan is perhaps the most racist country out there. they will not believe that she can speak Japanese properly. She is not allowed to vote. men will whistle after her. people wouldn't want to sit next to her on the train, in fear she might address them in english.
and at school, the boys would only be after her looks and the girls would hate her in fear she might steal their boyfriend.

But thank you really, for the insight onto how foreigners are treated in Japan...that's actually pretty tragic, I never knew that they did that there. I've always played with the thought of how Sonia fell into despair, so I'm very greatful for this insight--it makes one of my beloved favourte dangan characters even more loveable<3
