Do you think Fereldans actually crop their dogs' ears? I can't think of a single breed that's born with its ears standing straight up like mabaris' do.

You might be right, the last time I saw a German Shepard puppy (well, a full-blooded one), was when I was very small. But I know our Shiba Inu mix had standing up ears at 2 months.

We've got a white german shepard and his ears stick up. I love how it makes him look the alert guard dog even when he's sleeping.

Yes, we nicknamed her the little wolf, she's half Shiba Inu and half Australian Cattle Dog (or so the vet thinks), and she's named after Tasslehoff Burrfoot from the Dragonlance books.

Yup mine too. And she totally lives up to the name; if you leave anything laying around where she can get to it, she steals it and hides it. Like I used to leave some clothes at my birth-mom's house for when I would go down there, and she would take my underwear and hide it. We could never figure out where it was disappearing to, until one day my birth mother was dusting and found all of my underwear shoved behind the bookcase where only Tassi could get! Another time, I was down there and I had the couch bed folded up for the day. Well, that night I unfolded it, and the little brat had somehow managed to get into the folded up bed, under the cushions, and eat an entire pack of gum she had stolen from somewhere and gotten bright pink bubble gum all over the sheets.

And I think...(as in, don't quote me on this)...that the Belgian Sheepdogs also have pointed, standing ears.

Maybe I'm wrong.
