This lovely (but dangerous) couple is a Chrysallia Vampire and a former Vampire Hunter.

Chrysallia Vampires like Thessalia are like changelings, except they are "hatched" from the babies that they replace. They are vampires for their whole long lives. Their most frequent means of attack is their extending claws.

Thessalia has always been a fiercely efficient mind, making whatever sacrifices are needed to protect her clan. Things changed somewhat with an encounter with the Vampire Hunter, Amanda. The hunter had confronted Thessalia, heartbroken from the death of her servant. Even then, Thessalia fended Amanda off with ease, scolding her all the while. After some time away, Amanda realized that Thessalia wasn't the monster that she was raised to believe - this eventually blossomed into love, leading to them bonding as Bloodmates. Amanda now acts as a personal hitwoman for Thessalia, and Thessalia came to understand humanity's strength in the power to grow.

In layman's terms, Thessalia is the brain and Amanda the brawn. Of course, Amanda isn't dumb - she may typically be a casual goof, but she's inhumanly brutal in combat.
