Description
(EDIT 5-8) Made some slight changes to Okamiko's face and irises. Something that looked a little less creepy, you know?
-= Melody of Fauna: Okamiko Mikazuki =-
- Age: 6
- Height: 5'4"
- Weight: 227 lbs
- Gender: "Female"
- Specie: Robot
- Nationality: Kogangi
- Home: Bushiyo, Kogane
- Inspiration: (Okamiko) Man With A Mission (Heavenly Star) Genki Rockets
This strange robot came out of nowhere to raid the resting place of Kogane's Topaz LP. Four beetle ferran samurai went out to stop it, but when rescue parties arrived, only one of the samurai was alive (though unconscious), and the robot was shut down - it was, however, clutching Kogane's Spectrum Key, the Heavenly Star.
The robot was brought to Bushiyo's brightest engineering prodigy, Ekobo Mugenso. Ekobo analyzed the robot's code, finding it to be a custom project utilizing a Mikazuki-model Frame (an experimental frame intended for robotic bodyguards). Since nobody was able to safely wrest Heavenly Star out of the robot's possession, Ekobo decided to repair the programs so it would be a protector instead of an assailant. She also christened the robot with a name found within her code: Okamiko.
Okamiko was still cold and blunt, but at least she wasn't intent on robbing or harming anybody. By the time Saelph and his budding caravan of Spectrum Key wielders made it to Kogane, Okamiko was fighting off the upcoming Arkhos threat. However, a particularly dangerous Arkhos arrived and tried to attack Saelph...but Okamiko instinctively pushed him away from the attack, taking a fatal blow in the process. She was brought back in for repairs, but when she was all fixed, something was...very different about her behavior - she happily greeted Saelph, calling him "master" and pledging to follow him. Wha...???
Well...Okamiko isn't what she used to be, but she remains a powerful protector for the caravan. Perhaps Saelph might be key to uncovering Okamiko's true history, and the reason she was created in the first place...
-= SOCIAL =-
- Pros: Discerning, protective, curious, inquisitive, loyal
- Cons: Appears unfeeling, slow to understand societal norms, too subservient and dependent
- Likes: Gardening, cooking, being orderly, serving others, Saelph
- Dislikes: Being outcast, chaos, total messes, Saelph getting hurt
-= COMBAT =-
- Skills: Various weapon styles, taekwondo, military strategy, heightened awareness
- Gear: Heavenly Star, Mikazuki Frame
- Vector: Tech/Kinetic
- Idea: Star Surfer
-= TECH VECTOR =-
- Digital attacks: Uses a bizarre energy derived from data to attack in unpredictable ways.
- Radio wave attacks: Bends radio waves, whether to absorb them or to deal degradation attacks.
- Radar sense: Increases awareness of her surroundings, responding to threats more quickly.
-= KINETIC VECTOR =-
- Gravity attacks: Bends waves of gravity to attack enemies, or redirects gravity to launch or levitate things.
- Vibration control: Directs minute vibrations around herself, whether for defense or enhancing physical damage.
- EM barriers: Projects electromagnetic energy into barriers.
-= HEAVENLY STAR =-
- Okamiko's main weapon is the Spectrum Key of Kogane, Heavenly Star. It appears as a katana that forms its blade from hard light.
- Its blade can tense up, becoming tougher and sharper at will. It can also vibrate at intense frequencies, further enhancing its cutting power.
- According to some witnesses, she can cut something so cleanly, you wouldn't know it was cut until a hard breeze pushes the upper half off.
-= MIKAZUKI FRAME =-
- Okamiko's Mikazuki Frame is equipped with various tools to suit different tactics.
- The TOKYO Memory Unit is one of the strangest parts, housed within the neck of her robotic head. She can actually use her head as a detachable camera, sentry, or explosive - and the TOKYO Memory Unit will reconstruct the head fully after a while. Her senses aren't actually reliant on her head, anyway.
- The JK6 Cannon forms her left arm, and can fire concussive blasts of force-based energy. It also has five extendable fingers around its nozzle.
- The DJ-SM Stabilizer looks like a scarf, but it's lined with Vector-conductive circuitry. This can actually enable some limited levitation and surface-clinging. If it wraps around something, it could potentially infuse it with a gravitational focus - this could crush the target down into a tight little ball.
- The KB-33 Units are her mechanical legs, which use bursts of rocket propulsion to improve jumps and kicks. They also act as shock absorbers.
- The 4SR Chassis contains her generator. In a pinch, this generator can open up and let loose its energy in a penetrating beam.
-= Idea: STAR SURFER, Guardians of Cosmos =-
- Star Option: Casts an imaginary star that levitates near her or an ally, firing beams at enemies.
- Star Drone: Casts a star that flies above, scanning the area (and feeding the info to Okamiko) or firing beams.
- Star Cruise: Casts a star that keeps something affixed on top as it flies around quickly.
- Star Medic: Casts a star that constantly heals whoever it's assigned to.

-= TRIVIA =-
- Why make her a robot? Well, I was toying with the intended main themes of Melody of Fauna - survival and living - and eventually figured that a robot could fit into such a scenario. What would define survival for a machine that can easily be repaired? Is it ensuring that its "memories" stay intact? And if so, how easy would it be to "kill" the machine's current life and replace it with a completely new one?
- Okamiko lacks all private parts - her chest is technically bare here. Likewise, the human-looking skin on her ends right at the waistline. So why did her makers have her look like a jumble of ferran, human, and robot parts? Secret.
- Okamiko IS capable of eating. In fact, her synthetic digestive system completely burns up every single part of what she eats for extra energy. That said, she doesn't eat very often, as food is just an alternative energy boost to her.
- The components of her Mikazuki Frame are named after members of Man With A Mission - TOKYO = Tokyo Tanaka, JK6 = Jean-Ken Johnny, DJ-SM = DJ Santa Monica, KB-33 = Kamikaze Boy, and 4SR = Spear Rib.
- For this (hopefully final) revision, I wanted to give Okamiko a maid-like personality (since Kuwaka already serves the serious niche in the team). This also ties into her relation with Saelph.
- Oh, yes. Ekobo Mugenso is based on Anamanaguchi. Her name comes from their songs Echobo and Endless Fantasy.
