Description Ideas
rise out
of slowly stirring
subconscious murky rivers
taking shape in starlit varnish:
a decrepit wooden paddle, looming soft
brushed aside the weight of the water-sounds
lifting, quivering unto its



Zenith
apex, peak
precipice to light upon
in clear precision materials
it is realized– the moments align
in sequences of rhythm and joy, such
symphonies of imagination.




Like
leaves in Autumn
snow in Winter, fruit
in Summer, real gravity
weighs too solid upon a paddlewheel,
a hope, a dream, an illusion, a remedy, a
desire, a fantasy, a malady
and it descends, falls
back to the muck,
the somber
id.

The id is a concept from Freudian psychology, basically the unconscious mind where darker human instincts reside, such as sexual impulses or rage. The ideas on the 'addlewheel' in the poem are supposed to rise from it.

Yeah like Advanced Placement... so at the end of the year I can take the AP Psychology test and get college credit if I score well enough...
