What do you mean this isn't from a Silent Hill game wtf

Some nerds who I have the misfortune of knowing irl have been flipping about for the cluster monsters shown in that new SU episode: Nightmare Hospital. They were fun to sketch but I always have this problem where I can't figure out how to make my background not look like it's part of the subject? Idk the background always seems to merge with the subject and it bothers me and I haven't figured out how to combat it fml. Oh well.
