The interactions of conflicting circulation patterns in the atmosphere cause storms and turbulence. The best known feature of Jupiter is the Great Red Spot, a persistent anticyclonic storm that is larger than Earth, located 22° south of the equator.

Io is the innermost of the four Galilean moons of the planet Jupiter, the fourth-largest moon and the most geologically active object in the Solar System, with over 400 active volcanoes painting the surface with sulfurous and silicate materials in shades of red and white.
