Description This was on December 22, the day of the Midwinter Ceremony. Hours away from the beginning of the Ceremony, which begins at sunset and lasts until sunrise. And there had been a bit of snow. Yes, it gets worse. A couple of years ago there had been 48 inches of snow in only 24 hours just two days before the Ceremony. Fortunately the younger members of the tribe collect a serious supply of dead wood during the weeks before an the big winter bonfire drive back the snow in a hurry.
