Caught this beatiful crow in mid flightCouldn't make my mind up to post in Colour or Mono
The colour version helps show the powerful clouds to their best advantage
Which one would you choose ?

The image looks a little granny, but nevertheless it's an amazing shot. Actually, I'm wondering... how did you get that picture? Were you on a mountain or something?
As far as the image itself goes, I like how the crow is rising from the darkness into the blue sky. The black and white one doesn't do that for me... infact, it looks rather boring. There really aren't many colors in this one anyway, leaving it simplistic, but the black and white one is drab.
All in all, this is beautiful! My props to you.

Brilliant capture. That takes a lot of skill to catch an animal on the move like that.
I love the contrast of the stark black over the blue sky. Was a polarizing filter used, or was the sky just that blue?

As it happens, I just crabbed the camera and shot it. But the sky wasn't that good behind it, so from a previous shot I use an un touched sky which is also in the gallery [link] and combind them in photoshop. It pays to hangon to all shots. Good or bad, you never know when they will come in useful.

Well. I like the colour version.
The monochromatic is very nice, with a rather dark mood to it... But too often blue skies and strong clouds are saved for the avians socially accepted as "majestic", such as bald eagles, and the (though sometimes a tad raggedy) highly intelligent crows and ravens are thrown into doom and gloom.

i totally like this one better.. that sky is so rich and blue.. and the clouds are gorgeous. and what a wonderful capture.. this is an instant +fav.. i love ravens.
