EDIT: people asked what was Crisis prototype made of, since the sculpt is not a uniform colour; I used a few things:-heart base is plaster (was cast from a polymer clay base I made a mold of, since it served for both crisis and heart brooch )
-wings are resin recasts taken from one polymer clay wing I sculpted and duped in agar (I did that to have two matching ones, and just kinda flipped them and corrected later so they're flatback and cast without undercuts
-the grey part is plain polymer clay
-the brown part is two part epoxy putty
-white crescent top is polymer clay as well

yet I still can't get any of these done U____U
Why do I have so little time for doing completely useless things that I badly wanna do??? (like comic-making or these brooches)
And I think my lungs might develop a cancer due to inhaling resin and polymer sanding dust
But the dustmask is not comfortable, I hate wearing it ! D:

It's a lot of fun for sure. There is a certain level of experience one has to have before the casts are sufficiently nice, but that's all part of prectice to make perfect

They were spray-painted from the inside of the mold during the casting process.

Those are spectacular. I do however strongly recommend getting a new mask or at least working in an extremely well ventilated area (outside or in open garage).

yes I would use it for cosplay. I can't afford the real toys though I suspect those hard to wear lol but yea weight it an issue. lol but your's look the coolest out of all the hand made broochs I've seen. Any way I could get a discount if I purchased 2 at once? just curious. it's no biggie.

you mean for a custom OC brooch or the standard SM ones?
I haven't tried doing anything custom yet, but if these SM brooches come out nicely, I do hope to make some more/duplicate their shapes and they would be for sale then ^^
I'm almost done with the cosmic heart prototype but I'm still looking for a suitable filler that would make it ligher and possible to wear on a pin or chain *_*

Thank you Dear! Hey, what type of mask are you using? I just plan on buying half-mask respirator from 3M company, and I'm really puzzled by the choice of filters that go with the mask

I use a half-mask with filters (since full-face ones don't fit too well on me with my glasses). I believe you should be fine with a half-mask and disposable filters, but I'm not too certain since I've only worked with earthenware clays and not resin

I figured that though I may not feel bad directly after breathing dust remains in , it may come back and bite me in the ass while I'm older and who wants unnecessary surgeries or medical treatment for their lungs, right?
