Here's another City of Heroes commission I did for Kris. (See also: BiryaniBayani and Planet Girl) The Purple People Beater is a guy who punches things. And his fists glow purple when he does so. Hence the name. Hey, I didn't make it up. Neither did Kris. This is for a friend of his.Anyway, here he is doing what he does best. Take that, Generic Bandit!

Sorry, my girlfriend and I had the same conversation about the Purple People Eater. In both cases, it is the (B)Eater himself who is purple, not a (B)Eater of purple persons.

Calm down, calm down, it was just a joke.
And regardless, in the case of the Beater, it may be he who is purple, but in the case of the Eater, it is those that he eats. In the song, he explicitly states that his line is "eatin' purple people, and it sure is fine".
