Compelled to add this lovely and well commented image to my favourite gallery, it is a wonderful shot with just the right amount of light, a great crop and simple frame. I have a houshold full of blonde hair, and I would love to get this kind of low key image, however I don't think it will translate the same with blonde hair. (ex wife would be handy now!)

Yael is beautiful in any work you place her in. She is the perfect model. I would like to use her in a video game project sometime as a lead character.

Wonderful! This would make for a very nice reference for a subtle tonal study of the facial features. The slight shadows under the cheeks connecting to the nose are spectacular. Somewhat gives her a bit of b&w flush of the cheeks so to speak.
May I play around with this for a bit? I promise to give it back

This is fantastic. She has such great features for doing this type of portrait -- especially the eyes. B&W photos with minimal lighting don't work if you have bright eyes, IMHO.
Keep up the good work, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say "More Yael!"

At first I thought this was done in pastels and charcoal! Yael is a great subject, you're very lucky to be able to work with her as much as she is lucky to have such a great photographer to work with as well.

It was a little of both actually. It was a color shot and I changed it to B&w. The lighting was done mostly with a single light in the front but I darkened it and made it even darker in photoshop. Thanks

Oh yes my dear, it is very classy, elegant and beautiful. Almost like a glamour shot and yet looked like a beautiful painting, possibly brought out by the grainy effects.
