Curiosity killed a cat, they always said. Jennifer never really believed that saying. At least until tonight.
Just like most nights in the big apple, Jennifer was on a rooftop taking night time pictures of the city. After about three hours, it was time to call it a night. She went to the fire escape on the side of the building and started climbing down the ladder. She then saw shadows. Jennifer was tired and just wanted to go home and check out her pictures. But, her curiosity got the best of her. She saw the shadows walk around the corner towards her.
It was the Shredder, Razar, Rocksteady, Tigerclaw, and a few Foot soldiers. There were also a few Kraang bots too. Jennifer gasped lightly. She obviously couldn't hear what they were saying but she could figure out a couple words just by reading lips. And instead of escaping, she pulled out her camera and took a few pictures. The snaps of the camera made Tigerclaw and Razar's ears move.
"We're being watched." Tigerclaw said to his boss. Razar nodded. They then looked at the fire escape and saw the girl. Jennifer's eyes widened.
She's only known the turtles a month and she's already known by their enemies.
"Get her." Shredder said. The mutants jogged towards the fire escape. Jennifer quickly climbed back up the ladder and onto the roof. Ran to the other side of the roof and stopped at the edge. If she would go with the turtles on patrol she would have hopped onto the other roof/ She quickly pulled out her phone and did a shortcut text to Donatello. One word.
'HELP'
Jen saw a shadow walk up to her. She slowly looked up and saw the man himself. The Shredder. She could tell he was saying something because his mask over his mouth was moving.
Being deaf has its pros and cons. At this moment, she wish she could hear. Because knowing what this man has done and what he can do. Seeing him and being his target was one thing. The fact he was speaking and she couldn't hear his possible threat, made it even more terrifying.
"I do not think she can hear you." Tiger Claw said.
"Please...." She worded. She should've left an hour ago or stayed long enough for them to leave.
She jumped when Shredder extended his steel claws. Her fight or flight kicked in, but she was paralyzed. She prayed for someone to save her.
