Description Nemegt Formation, late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian), Mongolia. A flock of presbyornithid anseriform birds Teviornis gobiensis rests aside the rivers of Nemegt Formation, Mongolia, while a Deinocheirus is still having a veggie meal standing in the river. The Deinocheirus also saw some of the Teviornis flies over.

Teviornis is a presbyornithid anseriform closely related to ducks and geese. Presbyornithids were known for having characteristics of different waterbirds, such as a pair of elongated legs like flamingos, and goose-like neck. They seems to have a similar diet to ducks, because of the long legs, they seems to forage for food by wading.

Teviornis is the earliest known presbyornithid, living in the late Cretaceous. Presbyornithids survived the K-T extinction and lived all the way to the early Miocene.
