A spontaneous idea I got when seeing some lilies.So beautiful, I think they are my new favourite flowers.
Albrecht Dürer Watercolor pencils on Hahnemühle paper. Some hours.

Wow. First of all, I love the perspective. It really draws attention to the flowers, and the detail on them is impeccable. Also, the placement of the flower on the bottom-right is extremely skillful; you really utilized the rule of thirds there to draw attention to it, and that really makes the flower pop! I also love your use of light here; it's very soft and not overpowering, which adds to the atmosphere of the piece. The only suggestion I have is to add more depth to the background. As it looks right now, the clouds seem almost flat, which makes the dirt and the sky behind the cat seem very flat.

Wow. Before I say anything else, this is really beautiful.
So I don't know why this piece is so compelling and interesting, but I think it's the watercolor and the depth of things that snagged my attention.
Things you did (very) well on:
- The details of the flowers, especially the ones closer to our vision, is just amazing. It really gives off a nice vibe and makes me feel that I'm almost in the valley with this character. You did a great job with the perception there.
- The anatomy (and design) of the cat are very nice and accurate.
- I love how the flowers stem from her back paw; I dunno if that was intentional or not, but if it was, that's such a cool detail to add in there.
- Her necklace's shine is very nice. I have nothing else to say; it's just pretty.
- This picture FLOWS. Very well. The focal point for me was the big flower, and then it went down the vine to the cat's paw, then through her body, to the sky, and back to the vine again. GREAT job on that!!
Things to work on:
- As I love the technique of watercolor in this piece, and you did well in painting with it, the clouds above the mountains look very odd when clashing with the sky. It almost looks like the sky is trying to go on top of the white instead of the clouds being on top of everything. It's a minor detail, though, and not very noticeable.
- If those are mountains in the background, their size really needs to be bumped up a bit; they look like mounds of dirt, although it's understandable why you put them that size if she is far away.
- You also did really well with the colors here, so this isn't really telling you to fix anything; it's just what could make it better. So as pretty as the colors are, none of them are blended into one another, so the piece doesn't fit together as well as it could have been. For example, you could have taken the golds and pinks from the flowers (and even green) and taken it into the sky. Even if they were dull and subtle, I think it would give off a cool effect of togetherness.

I totally know what you mean about the critizised points, although I was suprised that you think the brown-black things in the background are mountains.
....This is a much better interpretation of my failed stones than my own
I wanted to create a blank stone field behind her, to show that her emerald turns stone into life. But it got waaay too dark and I couldn't detail the stones. So, I just left it dark (annoyed). But I could totally have made mountains out of them, just by putting some white highlights on them. I like that much more.
In fact, I tried to get the flower's shadow purple into the clouds, but on the photo, you can't see it, it appears blue there. But I could have tried to also put the pink and green into the sky, thanks for that tip!
aaand the clouds. Forget about the clouds xDD They're... not good. xD I'll get them better next time.
