Description

The closest thing to a Hornet I saw in years!

This is a Hudson Super Six from 1950. The owner said it's a rebuilt car and I noticed that they took mostly Hudson Hornet spare parts to fill the instruments, so it has a Hornet glove compartment and a Hornet sign on the rear. It looks a bit like puzzled together but for a Hornet fan like me, it was a dream. Beautiful!

The steering wheel looks exactly like the Hornet's one, and I could touch one for the first time! An awesome moment.

I once saw a 1953 Hudson Hornet but that's years ago. And I wasn't allowed to touch it at all. (I did. But only the lacque. )

I'm so glad you had a chance to see this! I'm going to a car show tomorrow (the 25th) and I'm hoping the 1951 Hornet will be there. I've already taken... loads... of pictures of it, but there's no limit in my book.

prepare for Hornet spam

Was this at a show or... how did you come across it?

I was so glad, you can't believe it. It was at a car meeting in my neighbour town. It's every year and the whole town is full of cars each time but I never even saw a Hudson. 1950'S cars are rare and this particular car even more.
The owner said he just made this Super Six ready this year, and he must have thought I'm crazy because I followed him the whole way to his parking spot and so on - but in the end, he even said I could sit in it! The seats aren't original but the rest of the interior was taken from a Hornet. So it was almost a Hornet xD and I touched one of these beautiful Hornet steering wheels - and it looked just the same as the one of my new model car! Unbelievable. Even same colour!
For that Hornets or Hudsons at all are super rare in Germany, this was really a wonder. Really. And the car is from where I live, same town, as I saw on its licence plate! Could be that I meet it again

Please SPAM ME FULL OF HORNETS XD
I'd love to see as much as you can get!!!

Did you see the rear window, the split window was on this year only, my favorite design element from that year.

Hm, in fact it didn't have a split rear window, but maybe it's because it was so puzzled together.

True, it is a bit of a Frankenstein job, though a beautifully executed one I must say.
