[HQS] 04 Sugawara Koushi X Reader

Hey! Sorry that my stat hadn't been entirely clear as of lately. But I'm trying my best to figure something out and oh, this is just something that I really needed to write out. Ideas come and go at unbelievable times, anyway.

Your eyes couldn't tear itself away from the laughing silver-haired boy during lunch. They burnt senseless holes behind his head and you wished that he had telepathy at certain point. You could only watch him from a distance as he conversed with his friends from the class window. With your chin on your palm and head tilted awkwardly, you sighed.

"Yo, why don't you just go hang with them, too?" A friend of yours butted in, sitting across from you.

You rolled your eyes, dropped your hand and turned towards her. "You do know how awkward it will turn out right? Just look at him, he's enjoying himself down there and I bet the mome-"

"-you join it'll all be silent. You don't have to keep saying that." She retorted as she drank from her juice box. You shook your head, trying to quaint the urge to roll your eyes before meekly glancing at the window again. There he was, with a shining smile. You screwed your lips to the side before slamming open your light novel to pass the lunch time.

Your friend closed the book back slowly and forced you to look her in the eye. You sigh, slumping, "What?"

She gave a small smile, "New years is in three days."

You gave a her a cryptic look, "So?"

She shook her head, "Based on what you say, Suga is not very shy and maybe he'd bring you somewhere for the new year."

A small smile made its way to your lips when you realize that was a huge possibility with it. "I'll keep that in mind. But if he doesn't say anything, then I'll ask him, okay?" Your friend nodded in satisfaction before hitting your shoulder hard. You winced and gave a glare.

You stretched your hands over your head and you closed up your club room after the members filed out. The members all waved goodbye to you knowing that you'd part ways with them to go meet up with Sugawara. You passed the key to the president and waved goodbye, already heading towards the gym where he practiced. As you neared, you spotted him with Daichi and Asahi. You stopped, you weren't entirely awkward with the two of them so maybe it was okay to join them-

"[Name]!" You blinked, making eye contact with a pair of hazel-brown eyes.

You waved timidly, "Yo." Sugawara said something to his friends before they pushed him forward slightly and he shook his head, a smile tracing his lips before jogging over to you. He smiled brightly and his eyes twinkled, "Let's go." He awkwardly intertwined his fingers with you. As you walked you looked over your shoulder to catch sight of Tanaka giving thumbs-up towards the two of you.

Where did he come from?

You shrugged and looked forward, walking side-by-side with him. Your heart beating erratically in a quick pace as you felt his hand's warmth against yours. You still weren't used to the fact that the two of you were dating and the fact this was the umpteenth time he did this, wasn't helping.

"Um, hey, [Name]?" You hummed in response, still in a slight daze.

You felt a slight tug and you blink thrice before looking at Suga. He scratched the back of his head, "Can we go out during the new years? I mean, if you're free and don't have any plans or anything-"

You laughed, "Sure." You squeezed his hand, "I was actually planning on asking you myself." You shrugged as the two of you resumed walking.

He blinked, "Oh." Then smiled, "Hmm, should've let you ask then." He chuckled and pulled you closer.

"Hey, Suga?" Daichi called out to his friend.

"Yeah?" Suga answered later taking a swig of water from his bottle.

"Why don't you take [Name] with you?"

Daichi caught sight of Sugawara's curling smile before he took another swig. "I'm actually planning on it." He turned to his friend. He gave a closed-eye smile and a thumbs up, "I got it all worked out, Daichi."

"Senpai!" Suga answered the call and returned back to court. As his eyes were glued on Suga, Nishinoya spoke from beside him.

Hands on his hips, "He won't have much time in January, would he?"

Daichi stood up, placing his bottle down, "We'd be busy with the nationals. That's why I want him to go out with her. At least once before everything goes hectic." Daichi looked at Nishinoya and the both of them shrugged before returning to the court, knowing well that the both of them were unintentionally planning something.

Sugawara Koshi stood frozen when he caught sight of you. Maybe it was the colourful lights that hung around the area, or the moonlight beam, or may even be the atmosphere but whatever it was, you looked breath taking with the glow as if you were shining. Amazing was one of the words. His eyes were wide as saucers as you awkwardly shifted your weight from one foot to the other waiting for him to response. Playing with the strap of your bag, you snapped a finger in front of him.

"Suga? Are you okay?" Sugawara blinked a few times before he stuttered a greeting, a light blush dusting his cheeks. He took a deep breath, met your eyes and smiled brightly and your heart somersaulted. He breathed out a response, "Hey."

You smiled, "Hey." You looked around before glancing at your wrist watch. "We have an hour till next year. Maybe we can have a look around?"

Suga finally broke out of his daze before something came to mind. Just as he opened his mouth, his phone vibrated. He slipped it out and saw a text from Daichi.

Re: Important
I won't be coming. Along with the others.

So have fun with [Name] ALONE.

The club planned on going together but apparently, until recently, it was now only him and her. "Is something the matter?" [Name] asked and Suga wanted to say that the club was coming but he realized where he was wrong for a moment. He was supposed to be on a "date" with [Name] but apparently, Daichi and the rest would have thought that it would ruin the whole atmosphere. He chuckled and shook his head, stuffing his phone deep into his pocket. "Nothing," He slipped his hand into hers and held it, "Let's go." He glanced at her, giving a smile to which she responded with a shy one.

Tanaka and Nishinoya gave a high-five as they watched from the shrubs. Daichi glared at the both of them and snatched his phone back from them. "Don't take people's phone however you want." He barked. His gaze then directed towards the pair that was happily chatting and walking through the crowd.

"C'mon, Daichi. You would have done the same, no?" Tanaka grinned. Daichi rolled his eyes before heading to the opposite direction in hopes not to bump with the two of them as he dragged the two boys.

There was only ten minutes until new years and the two of you were eating some delicacies bought from a stall. The both of you where the fireworks were going to be mostly visible at and sat on the bench that was conveniently placed there. As you rolled the wrapper into a ball you looked up at the night sky that was illuminated by the colourful lights and accompanied by the chatter of the crowd.

"What now?" Beside you, Sugawara asked. You shrugged before looking at him. His eyes met with yours.

"I-I don't know." You shyly turned away, leaning against the bench and looking forward. You heard distinct shuffling beside you and suddenly you felt a slight change in your surroundings. You realized soon enough by turning your head that Suga had came closer to you to the point where there was almost no space between the two of you. Your heart changed its pace and you sat stiffly.

"There's only five minutes left." He stated quietly, stealing a glance at you. His hands snaked its way to yours gently intertwining his warm slender fingers with your cold ones and instantly your whole body warmed up in contrast to the cold weather. You took a deep breath and pressed your arm against his, his warmth radiating off and wrapping you in a cozy embrace. You hesitantly placed your head on his shoulder to which he stiffened under the weight before slowly relaxing.

"Thanks for today." You mumbled as you cuddled closer to him and he wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

"We didn't do anything much today." He said as one corner of his lips tugged down. He planned on making today one of your best, talking and laughing to your heart's content; so that when the year started, it would start on your best note.

You smiled, "Being with you today is more than I can ask for." His whole body warmed and his lips immediately curled into a huge grinned. He closed his eyes and gave a short chortle, simply satisfied and happy with your respond, your warmth, your presence and you alone.

"[Name]?" You raised your head and turned to him. He turned to look at you with the brightest grin you had ever seen on him, "I feel the same."

Your heartbeat increased its pace when he leaned and mere inches before your lips, half lidded, he said, "Close your eyes." And you complied.

All you could think of was how his lips felt against his, how his lips felt so fitting against yours as if they were puzzle pieces. You then felt one of his arms encircle your waist while the other weaved itself through your hair. And all you could do was smile and kiss back.

"Kageyama! Come back here!"

The two of you parted immediately in surprise to the familiar voice. You and Suga looked around to catch sight most of the club members with Daichi looking ever so defeated as he walked towards the two of you. You returned your gaze to Suga and blushing immensely later as you realized what happened. Suga copied your actions before he too turned tomato red. He began stuttering, untangling himself from you hesitantly.

Before he got a clear response, Nishinoya roughly placed a hand on both of your shoulders. The both of you jumped and looked at him, the blush evident on both of your faces. He only grinned before walking over to Daichi who was giving a slight apologetic look towards the two of you. Suga regained posture and only gave a smile. Before anyone could speak, the fireworks began and everyone was in awe.

You broke your gaze from the coloured night sky and turned your gaze to the boy next to you. The smile on his face was enough to force you forward and kiss his cheek. He whipped his head towards you and a light pink hue dusted his cheeks. You smiled, cheeks the same colour as his. He gently placed his forehead against yours, blocking out the sound of cheering and blasting fireworks.

"Thanks for today."

Tanaka nudged Nishinoya who then nudged Asahi who later nudged Daichi. Curious as to what the three were looking at, he caught sight of his best friend and his girlfriend and smiled. "Yes!" Tanaka and Nishinoya quietly cheered before high-fiving.

-Took me freaking five days to write this. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry it's too long, too plotless-like and bad. I'm sorry. But Happy New Year, and sorry it's late.
