personality and redeemable qualities

★ when nervous, he curses and gushes a lot more, talking faster too
★ blue and red are his favorite monocromatic combination, next to black and white
★ he writes poetry and does a bit of literary writing as well in his free time.
★ very compassionate and dedicated to what he does, and he wouldn't change anything for the world.
★ mark is sappy, but he's not very good at it. thinking that romance is boring, he'd try to ease down
★ mark is often very funny when he isn't even trying to be, as it can be plainly seen with his videos. he really isn't even trying half of the time!
★ mark is actually very responsible, and sometimes, even when he's having a bad day, he can push aside his adult like personality and take the childish attitude he has while on camera. it's all for the fans, but usually, he finds himself getting into it even when he was faking it at first. he finds it very hard to be fake with his fans, and will tell them straight up if he's been having a shitty day
★ he's a teaser. he will most likely find your embarrassment spot in no time, and he will most likely play around to get noticed. it can be really annoying at times, but he means well
★ he's a bit reckless, but it's served him good in the past! (such as starting his youtube channel, he did so at a time he was almost utterly bankrupt)
★ he loves vintage things, especially if they regard things like magic, music and things like that.
★ now, mark is hella sweet and nice and he's willing to take his friends out to have a good time. and even pay for them if they don't have the money. but if he finds out you never have any money and you're always mooching offa him...he'll make sure to keep it within the budget of your financial standards. not his.

★ when it comes to mark, chivalry is alive and well. he believes that all women should be treated with respect (this applies to men too, really)
★ "half-assing" shit just isn't in his vocabulary or mindset. if he does something, he does it right.
★he's selfless and generous, even to the point he'd give the shoes on his feet or clothes on his back to someone who was in need
★ constantly pushes himself to achieve goals

★ mark keeps one huge folder on his computer that holds all of the fanart he's ever seen of himself done, and even labels it by artist if that artist has done enough pieces. he keeps them for thumbnails and many other things for his videos, because he doesn't want anyone to feel left out, especially if they put that much time and effort into something for him.

quirks, peeves, activities, and other

？ when he drives, he often wears shades, and sometimes he lets his glasses turn into them (they do that when in direct sunlight-- so it mostly happens around sunrise and sunset when the sun is directly in front of drivers on the highway or above)

secrets, nonredeemable qualities, and past

✗ the game vanish fucking terrifies him, and he only finished it due to his fan's pressing. took him almost a year. fnaf's got nothin' on that shit in his opinion. oh yea. he cried when he finished the playthrough. joyfully

✗ his feelings are easily hurt, and he also cries easily as well. though he normally hides the fact he's been crying when it's time to be on camera.
✗ constantly contradicting himself, self doubting, puts himself down often

✗ pushes himself way too hard, even to the point of becoming ill or unwell because of it.

✗ the game "i am bread" enrages him more than any other game he's ever played before. even to the point he has crushed his gamepad controller whilst playing it
✗ he tried smoking once; he coughed so bad he never tried it again
✗ during the low point of his life he was a heavy drinker. he's got it under control now however, and never drinks too much. he keeps himself in check
✗ he's the financial weight of his family. he holds everyone down and supports all of his brother's children and helps his mother pay the bills on her place. around the holiday season, he often gets dangerously low on money, because he's set on keeping presents under the tree for all of his nieces and nephews, and get them exactly what they want. then there's birthdays, too. mark never mentioned it to his fans, but he has hinted at it subtly in many of his videos. little of the money he makes actually goes to himself. 40% goes to charity, 50% to his family, and 10% to his own luxury and bills.
✗ he cracked his skull open jumping down the stairs with his brother when he was younger.
✗ he's worried about having a failing relationship, just like his parents did. he's slightly afraid of love.
✗ took advanced classes back in high school and college and such (nerd)
✗ believes he was a "dumb kid". he did some foolish things that often led to him hurting himself.
✗ he wanted to make video games as a career, but shortly after finding out his father had cancer, he decided to chase a career in engineering instead. but after a bit of that, he was in a rut and just couldn't make a solid career choice.
✗ mark's dad eventually died from cancer. he doesn't like to talk about it at all, but doesn't mind if it helps others who know what it's like with their coping skills, hearing about his experiences. he held his father's hand as he died.
✗ mark stayed with his mom after that, but she eventually kicked him out. that really hurt him emotionally.
✗ he had to have his appendix removed, because it was causing him excruciating pain. he also had a tumor in his adrenal glad. recovery from surgery finally got him to do what he wanted to do in his life. he used the tax refunds from the surgeries to buy a camera.

and all of this eventually led to the creation of his online identity; Markiplier. he started his channel because it was finally something that made him happy. he was stunned when his subscribers skyrocketed; and what really turned his life around was you guys; his ever-loyal and loving fans. he feels he can never THANK you enough, and he loves all of his fans more than he could ever put into words. before the channel was formed and before anyone even knew who he was, he was in absolutely NO control of his life. but now he's able to do what he wants. raise money for charity, make people happy-- change the world. and all because you changed his life. he feels he owes his fans everything in his life right now. they have changed him completely, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

and if he can do it, he believes that all of you can too.
