Description This is a tutorial on how to render horses' manes that I did after a number of people asked me to do one! I did it pretty quickly (I think I spent maybe half an hour on it) so the drawing quality itsn't spectacular, but I think people will get the idea. I hope this is what you guys wanted.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement.

Thank you so much! It took me forever to find a good, traditional mane tutorial. I love how clear you make it and the final effect is gorgeous. Again, thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to do a tutorial for all of the traditional equine artists on here.

Wow. This is amazing considering I can never get the mane on the horses I draw right. This is really useful!

Wow this is really good. Thanks! I've always wanted to draw a horse with a long pretty mane. But I have a question. How did you get your picture to look so good on the computer. Whenever I scan my pencil drawings they come out all fuzzy. I know this question has nothing to do with your tutorial but I would really apprecitate an answer.

I guess it just depends on the quality of your scanner. What model scanner do you have?

Another thing that might help you out is scanning at a higher resolution, like 200 dpi. If you are only scanning at 100 dpi, your scanner will omit a lot of information that ultimately makes your image a lot crisper.

I have an Epson Stylus Photo RX620. And I scanned my drawing to an USB Drive so I didn't see anything that said something about changing the resolution. Well I didn't really look for something about resolution for that matter either. Thanks I'll try that!
