Chapter 2: Artificial
So, it's been one day since the huge headache (literally) of a day that was my friend Ash became the Chosen One, and I learned I was a Heritor, a kind of person born from a union of a Legendary Pokemon, of which for me it is Mew, and a mortal human. Drake, the Heritage in charge, was informing me that we had a new kid coming in. Something about a cloning project with Mew's DNA leading to a new legendary being sworn in. Amazing what a fossilized eyelash can do, but curse/bless Giovanni for funding such an atrocity. Curse because Giovanni is a bad example for humanity, leading the infamous Team Rocket, but I suppose bless him because his idea tostrengthen the clones may have saved Mewtwo from following his peers. (A/N:Yes, I pushed Mewtwo's birth to a day after Ash and Gary were born. I need the whole cast of Heritors so we don't need to repeat anything!) Today is his Empowerment, as well as the day before the Open House for the "academy's" students in Cerulean! I can't wait to meet them! Of course, they plan to beam them in when they get decanted. The empowerments usually happen at noon-ish, but "Mewtwo" and his Heritor are waking up soon. Quantus, the Heritor of Palkia, is giving us an image now. (This image is the opening bit of Mewtwo Strikes Back, with the twist that Mewtwo is calmer.) In fact, Acuity, Uxie's Heritor, is planning on restoring his memory. (RIP Amber Fuji/Amber Fuji's clones. [Yes, the doctor cloned his daughter. None of the clones, which included clones of the Starters, survived, except for Mewtwo. They then wiped his memory, believing it too traumatic for such a young Pokemon.] Also the original Squirtletwo, Charmandertwo, and Bulbasaurtwo.) Well, here goes.
Mewtwo POV
Who am I?
What am I?
Where am I?
A voice calls to me. It asks me, "Would you like to know the answers to your questions? Do you wish to find your destiny and yourself? Do you wish, quite simply, to recall your childhood?" I reply, "I have known little, save for a phrase that is etched in my mind; 'Life is wonderful.' If this remembrance will allow me to gain closure, to regain what I have possibly lost, then I will take it." The voice replies, "Then meet sorrow as an old friend as you recall what once was, Mewtwo. I should hope a better future be built from this knowledge. I am Acuity, child of Uxie. You have looked into my Memma's eyes, although not directly, and forgotten who you are, your friends, all but your friends. I give you what you have lost, and leave you with what you earn."
(Turn to this deviation. It has everything that occurs:
Finished? On with the show.)
Genea POV
Now you know my Memma's tale? Okay. Unfortunately, due to "tampering to what is, in a way, preordained" being forbidden meaning neither Acuity or their Memma can blank Giovanni's mind about the clones, the whole Mount Quena deal will be in this world. Okay, so after making it look good, here I was, prepared to meet my sorta-cousin, Gary. I had a feeling Team Rocket wasn't done with us yet.
Okay couldn't resist.
In three differing locations, a certain trio of runaway riche, nurse school outlier, and oddly bipedal street Pokemon suffered a memetic allergy. (Gossip sneezing. Now in red thread of fate.) "Oh, I hope Jessebelle and my parents didn't hear me," said a deceptively high class boy with short purple hair in an ordinary cut, holding a deceptively technological treasure box to bury it, and the love note contained inside, away from his Sinnoh summer estate. "Oh, just great! Being sick just after I had to leave my medical school friend because of her graduation and my not being a Chansey! Ugh, just my luck," commented a girl with long magenta hair styled to a point, holding half of an egg-shaped pendant. "I probably need to go to sleep if I'm gettin' sick from the late-nighters, but I need to get better at speakin', even if Meowzie don't like me none! I'll show those bozos, this joint, and Meowzie too, that I'm the top cat here," commented a Meowth that was, oddly, speaking and walking like a human after his bid for love. All three had one common thought: "Why me?" A boy deceived in love. A girl with dreams she wasn't meant to dream. A Pokemon who humanized himself for love. An odd band for sure.
Well, that was weird. Anyway, in front of me was a kid with spiky hair. There wasn't much to say he was a Heritor, save for the pink half of the hair. "So, you're the new Heritor? Nice to meetcha. I'm Gary, and I suppose we're cousins by genes if nothing else," he said to me. "Genea. Nice to meet you too, cousin," I replied. "So, what do we do now?" I asked him. "Well, Gramps, my human Gramps, should be calling us to check up on us soon. Otherwise, not much but randomness. That, and making snacks for the open house tomorrow. Speaking of, how Tantibus made that cake minigame machine (yes, Tantibus made Cake Contraption, he's the Darkrai of the group) is beyond me. Wanna try for a score?" Gary said. Cake? I always wanted cake! The rules were (insert Cake Contraption rules, phase 1) then, once the time for shooting he ingredients was up, we had to shoot the batter with the cannon, once to form it, and again to frost it. When we were done, I tasted one of each cake. The chocolate was amazing, and the vanilla was delicious, but I couldn't help but enjoy the golden cakes. They tasted divine, a mix of mango, banana, and caramel. The cakes even had custard! (I always wondered what those gold cakes tasted like. The vanilla and chocolate were obvious, but no one knows the gold taste. That was how I imagined it. How do you think it tastes?) After the cakes were squared away, I noticed a young boy wearing a red and white cap. Gary was chatting away with the boy so casually. Is this Gary's friend? "Oh, Genea, good to see you! Meet Ash Ketchum, my friend from Pallet Town. Speaking of, Ash, I can't believe you actually got an official Pokemon League Expo hat!" Gary said. Pokemon League? Sounds nice. Maybe once I'm done training. What Pokemon should I start with?
Ash POV
Another Heritor? Whoa! Still, I had to finish speaking with Gary first. "Yeah, it took about a million postcards to get it, but what can I say? Pokemon training is my calling, especially with being the Chosen! After the Indigo and Silver conferences, I might fill out some mentorship papers before taking on Hoenn," I said. I had a feeling I would find a kid who would love to start his journey earlier than the ordinary age, especially as a companion.
Again, time for a gossip sneeze.
A black-haired child with glasses sneezed regions away. "Someone must have been talking about me. Probably about my aspirations," he said. This was Max, and he would be a great trainer once he received his license.
Well, either way, this journey will be great! In 5 years, all the Heritors can get their licenses, and we can go on a big adventure together! "So Genea, what Pokemon do you think you'll get?" I asked. "I'd like an Abra or an Oshawott," he replied. "Kids, get to bed! Big day tomorrow, we're meeting the parents in Cerulean!" Drake said. Well, time to go then. Who knows what we'll do once we're Off the Plain?
A/N: I realized such a huge group of trainers would be half nuisance, half burden. The question; can it be resolved, and how?
