Ok, I think I see what you mean. However I can assure you that all of this is my work.
Allow me to try to explain. First of all, school and sports responsibilities have been keeping me very busy, and taking up almost all of my free time. So, I have not had the time to work on something serious like this for a good while. This also helps to explain why this is one of, if not the only picture that is as developed as this in my gallery. Furthermore, many of my older deviations do not reflect my current abilities very well at all, especially in terms of Photoshop. For instance, I have now only had Photoshop for a year, and in the case of my previous deviations, and especially those which preceed this picture, I was still learning more about it, getting used to it, and getting bolder (not to say that I'm not still doing so). Along with the factor of experience, I had not bothered to use a refrence with any of the previous deviations that I had used Photoshop for, and I am more accustomed to using reference pictures when I draw or paint (or at least when I am making a serious piece of art), and for this piece I had used a reference. Also, seeing as how it took me well over a month to complete this, I learned and improved even througout the process of it. Another important factor to consider is that my deviantART gallery is only a small portion of the art that I make. So, inevitably, many of my improvements will not be able to be seen here.
If you would like to see the screenshots of this piece throughout the various stages of the process, you can find them here: [link]
I hope this helps to clear things up, at least a little.
...
I'm sorry, but I could not help but add this as well. Please be patient with me.
I would be rather ashamed if every piece in my gallery was indeed, as you said "nowhere good enough in quality or composition." Thank you, I am honored that you think so highly of this piece, however this makes me a bit concerned.
May I direct you to a piece that I had done a good while even before I had done this picture of my dog. I had even done this last summer, nearly a year ago. And yes, I did have a reference, it was a still life. [link]
All I am hoping to say with this is that even if my photoshop skills were not, persay "up to par" yet, I was not completely bereft of the possibility of making somewhat nice work in the future.
I am also somewhat curious as to wether you had looked at this piece yet [link] . I had even used references minimally, not relying on them as much I would normally, which for me feels like a bit of an accomplishment.
So, all I am hoping is that this picture of my dog that I have done does not seem quite so out of place now.

The horse picture is a big improvement to the rest of the humanoid figures you've sketched, so it may be that your strong point is drawing animals.
May I ask to see the original photo you used as a reference for this particular piece of work? It's just that I noticed the original photo reference on your desktop in the work-in-progress pictures you linked to.

Yes, I agree, humans are most definitely my weak point. I only started drawing them a little more than a year ago and so before then I had avoided drawing them alltogether.
Yeah sure, here it is: [link]

Excuse me, but I don't believe you ever answered my question about where else you have seen this posted. I would greatly appreciate if you would do so.

Excuse me too but I've been without a computer for just over 3 months and I don't really feel like searching through backlogs of an art theft community just to answer your question. I'm not being cheeky, I just thought me not replying to your question would've given you the indication that I wasn't around to talk.
It was on an art theft community on LJ, but like I said - I'm really not under any obligation to go searching through over three months worth of postings just to find the thread for you. Sorry.

Oh that's really quite fine. I was not aware of the situation on your part. Having just dealt with an art theft of this piece on ebay, I was reminded of this conversation and thought it would be wise to investigate other possible situations of art theft.
I was not tying to impose anything upon you, I just figured that if you were someone that might know of any other art thieves it was worth a shot to ask them about where they saw them.

Oh no, it wasn't anything to do with someone stealing your art. Someone on that community made an accusation that you were stealing art and assumed the photo of the dog wasn't yours for some odd reason so I came to investigate. You proved them wrong of course and they dropped all assumptions after that, there's not been any mentions of you since as far as I know.
I'm very sorry if I came off as snippy, I've been having a rough old time with computers recently and I haven't been in the best of moods because of it. Because you've been understanding with my misunderstanding I will oblige in helping you as much as I can.
I can point you in the right direction of the community though, posters there sometimes also look out for Ebay sellers who have stolen art so it may actually be of some help to you in the future if someone comes across anything fishy. It's called art_theft and you have to join to see the posts but they're pretty quick with accepting new members.
My observations of upset artists dealing with Ebay thieves have never been good and unfortunatly, never have happy endings. Ebay themselves take a horribly long time in pulling down the auctions after a report and sometimes they never go through with it either. It's kinda beginning to be a lost cause for most artists and that's why there are many bootleg merchants thriving there. :/
If you need anything else just let me know, I'll do what I can to help.
Good luck!
