Description
Taken yesterday at dawn.This forest consists of areas without human activity in order to develop a primeval forest again. I felt like I was standing in a rain forest - here in Germany.

Oh wow when I saw this it literally took my breath away! It's stunning! The whole picture just looks so magical with the rising sun and the haze. The composition of the piece is good and those two tall trees in the foreground seem to 'frame' the sun. The only thing I don't really like when looking at the picture is the dark patch in the bottom left corner. I think either you should've included that area more in the picture (made it a bigger feature) to have a nice contrast with the overall brightness of the picture or just not included it (but maybe it would look bad without that darker patch? I don't know). I just think a bigger contrast with the light and the dark would've been nice there. I love how you can see all the leaves on the trees; it gives the picture a nice level of detail because the rest of it is so, I don't want to say blurry... but less in focus. If you get what I mean.
As for originality, I can't really remember many pictures like this, and the ones I can remember, none of them had the same impact this one has so I'm going to say this is highly original.
Again with technique, I don't like critiquing that because I don't know if you had to take several shots before you got this, if you edited it, what sort of settings you were using on your camera etc so I think it's unfair to comment on technique.
Back to the bottom left corner; the more I look at the picture, the more I like it and thinks it fits in, but I still think it would be nice to have a bigger dark patch and get that really cool contrast. And finally the impact. Well, like I said at the start the first time I saw this I just stared at it because it has a truly huge impact. It's a beautiful photo and I feel it really captures the essence and magic you get in a forest. Well done and if I ever saw this in a shop I would definitely buy it!

About the contrast: I didn't want to lose the details in the photo and a higher contrast also tended to reduce the mythical softness in my opinion, so I left the gray values like this.
To be honest, I didn't reply earlier because I wanted to check if I change my mind about the darker area at the bottom of the image. Usually, I wait a couple of days or weeks before I submit new photos to my gallery in order to be sure I like them. This wasn't the case here. I uploaded the photo right a day after had I taken it. After reading your words, I thought, "Maybe, I should let some time pass to think about it", but it turns out that I still like the photo as it is.

Well the way I see it, you took time and effort to take the picture so if I'm going to write a review I should take time and effort over it as well

I could of course have written my own critique but I think you capture what I would have said quite well.
I only got 2 things to say. First - I don't agree on the Originality part. But as you say, you can't remember seeing much like it. So that is your view. I can't argue against a subjective point of view.
Second thing is this. When I first seer the picture and then read your idear of giving it more contrast I thought. "That's mad." I thought it would take too much of the reality out of the picture. But the more I looked I figured. "Maybe you might be right."

You're right. Originality is strongly connected to our knowledge. I assume that you've seen quite many forest photos like me. Though, I admit that I've never come across such a color combination and composition before, but I'll probably never know if somebody has created a photo like this.

Nice, but I think this photo isn't suitable for crops - it's really pixelated now. Maybe, you should use stock photos like Misty Forest Stock Package in the future.
