I initially thought that this was the original design. It's near indistinguishable from it. I would tip my hat for you if I had one. Man I wish my 3D skills were at your level.Β

haha thanks man!! i just keep learning everytime i model and try out new stuff. i used 3ds max with vray renderer. i work for the moment on a gaming pc with a i7 core and 6GB ram. and i use a cooling pad so it wont burn my laptop.

I use Maya and I'm running a Quad Core with 8GB of RAM and a video card of a Gefore GTX 560 Ti, and I realized that I am still limited as to what I can produce with it.

your setup should be enough to render most things. but it might take a while.
i sometimes keep it rendering overnight. but i dont risk that on my laptop.

8ram seems fine but the quad core is whats keeping you down.
but o render highend stuff you will need a renderfarm wich are bascily multipe pc rendering the same image.

anyway keep learing and pushing yourself to get better! and be patient!!!!

>bieng a father
Congratulations.

As for the feedback : Some noise bump on camo like one on the barrel would be nice. More bump on chipped/rusted parts.
Also, some large-scale overall noise on diffuse color to make tone variations.

I'm flattered, thanks

Metals could use some work -- they are a bit glossy. Try to alter "specular roughness" parameter (if you have one)

np!

yes youre right they dont really look like metal, and i think i did see roughness parameter somewhere ^^.

ones i have metal worked out ill add some different metal on different part. and the tracks will get better material aswell.

BTW I've found a quite simple way to add procedural lumps of dirt etc using particles.
But as all simple to implement ways -- it's quite heavy on processor, cause it generates loads of geomtery.

yeah ive tought of that to, i uses it for the snow on my tousands sons dread. but for the dirt its going to be a lot harder.

btw i render on my laptop i7 core 6 gb ram. so it can take quite abit, but my concern is more the heat it produces when rendering so i try to keep the time down whenever i can.

Well, It depends on software.
MODO has some options that are really food for dirt etc. But resulting 15-20 mil polys is quite an overkill.

Take care with the notebook. AFAIK "Gaming notebooks" with powerful video & CPU suffered from local overheating that ruined the motherboard.

i think ill just do some dirt in the material with the bump map or something.

and yes 90 degrees aint good for your motherboard for long period of time, thats why i try to keep rendering time below 30 minutes.
Getting a new mobo for your laptop AINT fun.

i just need to get my all powerfull desktop back!!!
