Just deciding to have a child would make everyone sweat, wondering if it'll mean that Rose/Steven's gem will be passed down... they wonder if it means Steven will be gone, and if so if it means Connie will vanish as well, and they consider it worth the risk but have no way of knowing themselves. Poor Greg's gonna have to go through it too; he already watched Steven's arrival mean Rose's departure. (Same for the CGs, of course, but Greg's the one who usually gets ignored in such things. Oh, for bonus points, the way they probably discovered Stevonnie was pregnant was whenever Stevonnie next tried to separate. There's now something there that's not strictly from either of their separate selves. So there was already very suddenly the question of "am I ever gonna see Steven/Connie again" even though everyone loves Stevonnie. Now we can only wait until Rosie is here and Steven/Connie/Stevonnie areΒ or aren't. ...and then there'd be the 'can they still separate' drama... and if I was writing it, they can't, and while they love being Stevonnie and are fused about 70% of the time, they weren't sure if they were ready to never be able to separate again, though I think the joy of being able to survive, and be there with Lars and Rosie, outweighs it.)

Steven and Connie have their own separate romances, Connie being with Pearl and Steven being with Amethyst. So they spend like, one month fused together and one month apart, so they are equally with all their romantic partners. It's weird but they make it work... somehow. I imagine Pearl would be awkward trying to be romantic with Stevonnie, although I doubt Amethyst would mind. Lars, of course, loves Stevonnie, although he sees Connie and Steven as different people. It's..... complicated
Oh, definitely when they're pregnant they can't unfuse, and if they could, it would probably kill the baby. But considering Stevonnie is 75% human they would just have a child the normal human way, although Rosie is kind of...???? eh not exactly human but not exactly gem either.
