Description "I forgot how quiet it can be here."

She looks around as only a few people walk about, some in tears, while others are just like her. She looks between her resting legs, looking at every blade of grass beneath her before returning her attention to her listener.

"I'm sorry I haven't come by to visit you as often as I said I would. It's just... hard being here, seeing you like this. But I'm back, at least that something right? Even if it has been more than a year..."

She sighs, looking back at the floor, shifting her legs on the ground a bit in order to get comfortable.

"I dropped out of college... just...just couldn't stand being there anymore really. Mom was pissed as you might guess, said you would be furious too. Y-you're not though right? You said I should always try to go for what makes me happy, though I'm not sure if you would agree with me dropping out."

Her hand gently rubs her arm as she looks sad as well as uncertain.

"I moved out and found a one bedroom apartment, even managed to get a job at a video store. The pay isn't great, but with a little help from Mom I've been managing to make it work out. They even have me deliver movies, I know I know, it sounds really weird but apparently people are into it cause I get called out a lot. Thanks for the bike by the way; the guys at work say that having a cute girl ride up on a motorcycle to hand out movies is good for business. I can't complain, at least I don't have to stay indoors all day."

She smiles a bit and scoots closer, gently leaning onto her listener.

"I adopted a little girl a couple of nights back. She's this tiny little thing, but so full of energy." She giggles lightly, "And she's quite the big eater too. I remember you mentioning how you would love to have a granddaughter; someone who could remind you of when you took care of me as a little girl..."

She pauses for a moment, a few soft tears sliding down her cheeks and onto the grass below. She takes a deep breath, though her voice begins cracking.

"I-I'm sorry I couldn't give you that granddaughter sooner, I-it's just... school and trying to find the right person. T-then there was the news from the doctor, and well... I'm sorry..."

She wipes her tears off of her face, and takes a few seconds to recompose herself.

"Daniel thinks it's a bad idea for me to keep her; he talks about how I can barely take care of myself, let alone a 6 year old girl and how I'll be doing her more harm than good. He accuses me of doing this just because I can't give Mom a grandchild, but that's not it. Her parents died and her sister is missing, I-I can't just abandon her too. She needs me, I'm the only left who can take care of her."

She looks more confident now, but still a hint of sadness remains.

"You would like her a lot, energetic, curious, affectionate, and always happy. She goes around wearing one of my hoodies all the time, though the thing is too big for her. I tried to convince her to let me have it tailored so it would fit her better but she won't let me, she keeps telling me that it's perfect the way it is. Her name's Nicole, though I've taken to calling her Nikki, which she seems to enjoy more since that's how she's been introducing herself to everyone lately. She's the granddaughter, and the daughter you and I have always wanted Dad. One day I'll have her come meet you, though maybe when she's a little older."

Dani hugs the gravestone of her late father lightly, a few more tears returning to her face.

"I-I miss you...s-so much..."

She gives off a couple light sobs before forcing herself to stand up. She wipes her eyes on her sleeve and looks back at the gravestone.

"I-I'll come back soon, I promise. I-I'll tell you about all the things that Nikki and I do so you'll never miss out on a single moment, ok? I-I love you Dad..."

She covers her face with her hand as she begins crying out loud. She gives one last look before making her body walk away. She heads off and takes a seat on her motorcycle, the last gift from her father, and gives one last look at the cemetery. She nods her head as she promises to be back next month and puts her helmet, revving her bike before heading back home to her daughter.
