Incident Report:
Formerly a demolition robot, Collapse Man began exhibiting signs of hostility to human workers. Unknown to authorities, Collapse Man had been hijacked by some of the crew on the site and used in a pit fight with a rival company's demolition robot. They effectively stripped away Collapse Man's control over his own body and piloted him remotely. The fight ended in his favour but left one of his arms damaged, and he never forgot it.

Things escalated to the point where Collapse Man nearly killed some site personnel, forcing the company to return him to his creator Dr. Broadleaf for decommissioning. Collapse wasn't destroyed, but sealed away in a prison Broadleaf had earlier created to house the rampant prototype Exceed Woman. The facility was expanded to accomodate cases like Collapse, wherein a Robot Master was slated to be destroyed but Broadleaf wanted to spare them. The robots themselves didn't see it as an act of mercy though, and grew resentful and angry with him.

Broadleaf died not long after the last of the rogue Robot Masters was brought in. Seven years later, a mysterious robot master known as Calamity Man visited the prison, fighting through the guards and freeing the inmates within, offering them a chance to join him on an anti-human crusade. Exceed Woman was the only one opposed, and Calamity demonstrated his massive power by beating the seemingly unstoppable Robot Master to near-death. The remaining nine Robot Masters in captivity joined him-

Collapse Man, Fracture Woman, Strand Woman, Chasm Man, Regent Woman, Outbreak Man, Breach Man, Advance Woman and Tome Woman.

Together, they formed the Runaway Nine and began a reign of terror across the land, unconcerned with dying or consequences- exactly as Calamity Man had hoped.
