MangaStudio 101-- Managing Sketches---
Edit: Excuse me, my typing failed me.
I'm an Admin at , and ever since I've been there I've heard questions about this program. Folks really don't seem to know what to think of it. I love it and use it more than Photoshop, to be honest, so I'm recommending it to all of you--and this is how.
MangaStudio isn't that hard to learn with a few pointers, so I'll try to go through the basics with a series of simple tutorials. Hopefully ya'll will find it useful. ^^

you should do a manga studio tutorial on coloring. Everything else I figured out on my own just by playing around with the program, but I still haven't figured out how to color!

When you create a new layer, you have a dropdown menu where you have to tell the program to do a color layer instead of a black and white or grayscale layer. XD It took me forever to find it, too. >.<; I keep meaning to do the inking and coloring tutorials, but I've rarely even been drawing lately so I haven't gotten it done. TT_TT I'll try and throw it together in the future, though!

oh my god. *headdesk I can't believe it was that simple the whole time. My problem was that I was clicking the new layer button instead of going through the layers menu, and so it wasn't giving me the dropdown menu.

It's easier to find some things once you get away from the beginner's assistant and start using the individual menus; at least it was in my experience. XD; It still took me nearly a year to be confident enough to break away from it though.

Yeah, I suppose it's probably time I try breaking away from it and start learning more about the program!

It'll be cause for much heartache, unfortunately. -_-; Still, it's a tool that most people underestimate. Almost everyone I talk to says you can't paint with MS, but you actually can if you have EX; even if you don't, using the pencil tool can produce a similar effect.

Great tutorial! I once tried to use MangaStudio but I was a bit lost and didn't have the time to experiment. This should help me a lot, thanks!

Welcome~ Yeah, the program is rather confusing; it took me an age to figure out how to color. O.o; But now that I know what I'm doing, it figured it was a good time to make tutorials for all the other folks showing interest~

I believe you *can* when you're starting out, if you click the story tab at the top of the window... But I'm not completely positive, so you'll have to try it.
